Guest guest
Hey Guy's. I need your help here. Katy has a Shunt. The last week she has been a little different. I called the neurologist he doesn't seemed to be worried Katlyn has no fever. However she is waking up very irritated and is having trouble sleeping when she is asleep she wakes up with crying spell's. She seems to sleep more than normal. Some of the Dr.s called this clearing. IM just wanting some advice from those of you that have experience. She also seems to be pulling to that side, the side the shut is on. The neurologist suggested we bring her in for a CT scan and a shunt series to see how things look. Have any of you seen this before and any suggestions. Darin Ps. She's still doing well, like I said only when she is trying to sleep. And she is trying to sleep more than usual.
Guest guest
I hate to say it but I think a CT is in order... we never had to shunt i Thank God however we spent the first two years on " shunt watch " looking for any and all signs of hydro returning since he was born with it. It's confusing, (to laymom me that is LOL!) because it's only happening in her sleep per se... but maybe it's " pooling " or just malfunctioning in that position which is something to consider when they are running the CAT SCAN also....you may wish to " set up " the scenerio before doing the test... have you noticed if it's after she's been asleep X amount of time... ?? Like she goes to bed at nine and is consistently up by 11 or such?? Obviously prayers are with you all... keep us posted! Guest guest
Yes it is after she has laid down for an hour or so. Thank you so much I thought the same thing that it could be pooling or malfunctioning in the laying position. Darin
