Guest guest
I have an excellent book in my library that I started re-reading in regards to the Candida issue, and on the back cover it has an interesting comment that I thought I would explore further with all of you. The book is called "Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, and Environmental Illness" by Burton Goldberg and the Editors of Alternative Medicine magazine. The quote is from Stoff, MD in Tucson, AZ (at the Solstice Clinical Associates.) I had called them after I got this book (I was living in Tucson at that time), and their fees were just totally outrageous. I would have loved to go to him when I was first ill, but there was no way I was going to spend that kind of money. We were just in the throes of opening our own business and, really, had no income yet. I spent alot of time reading books and trying to educate myself instead. However, the quote gives a great outline of what we may want to aim for in our healing. This is what he says: "Based on my experience in successfully treating at least 1500 cases of chronic fatigue syndrome, the return to health involves three stages. First, you put the viruses involved into remission. Second, you have to repair the cellular and systemic damage. Third, the patient must "learn the lessons of the disease" so the same lifestyle and emotional patterns are not repeated in the future. In general, most of my chronic fatigue patients do well fairly quickly if they follow our directions." I think we can aim for educating ourselves about these three steps fairly well, with the information available to us through the web and our books on healing. I am not suggesting that we can forego help from our doctors, but I do think we can alot for ourselves at home. I'll explore these three issues further and share the info I think will be helpful. For example, there are herbs, supplements and therapies that are known to be anti-viral. Things like garlic, grapefruit seed extract, ozone therapy and sauna therapy. So, maybe we can try to deal with some viral issues first and then work on the cellular repair. I hope this is helpful to us all.
