Guest guest
http://abclocal.go.com/kfsn/news/112802_nw_firehouses.html Shoddy Conditions Many buildings firefighters enter can be death traps, yet Fresno's firehouses themselves are in shoddy condition. Fresno has 16 fire stations. Many have leaky roofs and moldy ceilings. City councilman Jerry Duncan says the city desperately needs to upgrade the living conditions for the city's 251 firefighters. Fire officials say maintenance to improve station conditions would cost about 1-point-4 million dollars. Duncan wants to use some of the money set aside to hire firefighters. He says 4-million dollars was set-aside in this year's budget to hire 11 fire fighters but the city hasn't hired anyone.
