Blount County school system workers are spending the weekend cleaning up the school and making sure everything is in order for teachers. During the time off, teachers have been tutoring students at Heritage Middle School. With the building ready to go, principal Vandy Kemp said there will soon be a lot of learning going on. "We have to make sure that all the kids have an opportunity to get back to where they need to be," she said. "We have about three weeks left in the grading period. We have about seven weeks before the state Gateway test." Kemp said the students should feel right at home when they return because it will be Homecoming week.
