Guest guest
Hi gang, after waiting for 9 months, gets to start Enbrel. He was accepted in their big 3yr trial,no placebo involved. So for the next 3years will be a guine pig to study long term affects compared to MTX.The easy part is over. Our insurance will cover it through the Major Medical at $15 and 20% but it has to be approved from a review panal. is on combination DMARD therapy,so mayby we wont have to fight. As soon as it is approved and s rheumy writes a prescription I call Cincinnati and set up his first appointment. The review panal told me as long as they have all the info they need it doesnt take long,so mayby within a couple weeks will be getting his first shot.If they turn him down you know I will be asking for advice. So wish him luck. Guest guest
Hi Diane, is currantly on 25mg MTX sub-que and 200mg Plaquenil a day.His rheumy will still be in charge of the pred dosage and can start lowering the amount of meds takes if he responds, can still recieve joint injections if need be.From what I know about trials, you start out with the intentions of following through to the end.You can drop out any time, say you just dont respond or you suffer side effects. will have to go to Cincinnati 4 times the first year, they send post card in between visits to see how things are going.s rheumy still has full control over s care, just like if he had been moved off the prospective patiant list, instead of going into a trial.I only wish I was aware of this trial earlier.Hugs to you and . I'm just curious how the study works. Diane (, 3, pauci)
