I dont know if its fate or what,but Amgen laboratories just called me and gave me some info.There are two trials going on.One for all JRA kids that lasts for 3yrs with the kicker being we would only have to go to Cincinatti 4 times the first year and only 2 times the next 2 yrs and there is no placebo.The second trial is for systemic children only.At first all kids are put on Enbrel,the ones that respond are then randomly given a placebo,but if the child starts to go down hill they reintroduce it.I got to talk to the rheumy at Cincinatti who told me they would never help a child and then just stop and let things get worse.He is going to call Dr.Lawton tomorrow and se if qualifies and if so which one would best suit him.We would naturally have to pay what ever the insurance company doesnt,but it would be like that if we got it without going through a trial.I explained what just happened with s pred ,how he didnt have a systemic flair but Dr.Lawton wants him back under control so we can quickly get him back down and then take things slow.He couldnt tell me much until he talks to the rheumy.He knows s on the Plaquenil but I forgot to tell him about the MTX.Geez I would love for him to get into the trial for all kids.A 4-6 hr drive 4 times a year is not to big a deal and your guaranteed the drug.Oh my head,to be so depressed to so excited.He took my number too so mayby I will hear from him soon.If he doesnt qualify at least I tried.Hope the day is going well, is doing a little better he should feal lots better the next day or two.Hugs to all.
