Guest guest
Hi, . As far as I know, it can be hereditary. My mom has flat feet, so I just figured that's where got his from. If it came from being barefoot I would have the flatest feet around! LOL And I do not have the condition. Just a thought, Michele -----Original Message-----From: lilmonkeysmommy [mailto:josette86898@...] Sent: Wednesday, August 07, 2002 8:16 AM Subject: Re: ?? about flat feetHi Becki, I'm concerned about flat feet too with Chey.mainly because her big sis has flat feet. I read where it's inherited, then I read where it's because of wearing shoes as a child with no arch support does it, so I'm confused about that. I can't think of anyone in the immediate families with flat feet & I always tried to keep good shoes on the girls, but I think someone told me it comes from going barefoot a lot also, but I remember when I was a kid I didn't always wear shoes with arch support in the summer, I wore those little canvas shoes & went barefoot a lot. I wish I had the answers to this too. It's a good question Becki.Hugs, & Chey4 Poly <hanks@h...> wrote:> Hi my name is Gia, and my son ph has had oligoarticular arthrits > since Jan 01. Guest guest
Hi , One of the things that I read on Vanderbilts website, was barefeet were healthy feet, they just need to be protected from the heat and cold.Shelby is 6 and a half and arches hurt her feet.Shoes need to be big enough that all the toes have room but not so big the child trips over there shoes.Im a computer dummy and have no idea how to bring up there orthopedics paige and send it here.It showed all the stages of a childs feet from infancy to toddlerhood on up.Little kids feet dont look like adult feet.Get a pail of water and have them get there feet wet and walk on the concrete, the first steps may be big blobs, but as some of the excess water comes off have them walk gently, and you will see most likely they do have an arch.I will try and get the correct URL and send it because alot seem to be concerned. Love Becki and 4systemic Re: ?? about flat feet >Hi Becki, I'm concerned about flat feet too with Chey.mainly because >her big sis has flat feet. Flat feet can run in the family. If the child has inherited the tendency, bad shoes can meake it worse. It's like overweigth; if you have the genes, you should be extra careful with eating. Guest guest
Hi Michele, I know what you mean, I like going barefoot too..lol I'm glad you told me this, I didn't really see how it would be caused from going barefoot either. Guest guest
Hi Becki, Don't feel bad about being a computer dummy, I am too..lol Well I guess I'm doing ok with Cheys' shoe buying then, I got her some of those Disney canvas shoes for school, & they fit good, but don't have arch support, she's had shoes like this before & don't complain of her arches hurting. If you can get the URL on here I'd be very interested in checking it out. I'll do the water " feet prints " to see about Cheys' feet. Guest guest
Soili, Thank You for clearing that up for me. My oldest daughter has flat feet & I buy her good shoes, especially after I learned she had this condition.
