Guest guest
Hi Ellie, na has cystlike formations on the top side of her wrist and you can see a cystlike formation right in the middle of the top of her hands too. I really need to talk with the rheumy about this too because I hadn't really thought much about it until I got to lookin at her medical record report from her first visit when she was diagnosed. The report also says: Reveals fusiform swelling of the digits of the hands and feet. She has quite a bit of synovial hypertrophy, swelling, and even cyst formation over the dorsal side of each wrist. Her knees lack full extension by 10 degree. Both knees are warm. She does have fluid in both knees. She also has fluid in both ankles which is easily ballotable. The ankles show moderate reduction in subtalar motion and tibiotalar motion. Her knees and ankles are warm to the touch. and I can't even understand what half this means. Here is some more but I can't write it all and all of this was on her very first visit when he diagnosed her. X-rays: Unrevealing except that she does have circumferential widening of the phalanges of both hands and does have some periarticular osteoporosis in that area too. I couldn't pick up any abnormality in her lower extremity x-ray except for the soft tissue swelling around the knees and ankles. Impression: I think that this young lady has polyarticular JRA. It is hard for me to factor in the rash which is certainly not typical for the systemic rash that we see with JRA(nor does she have systemic symptoms). I didn't write everything but if anyone knows what some of those hard words mean I wished I knew. Keep in mind that this was her very first visit and diagnosis day. It's sort of cyst like and you can see a lump about the circumference of a marble. It doesn't feel like swelling, more like a cyst. Anybody have any experience with anything like that? On to a totally different subject, I'm gonna change the spelling of my name on the list. Eli is short for Elianna, so it's pronounced Ellie. So I guess for translations sake I will change it to the way it's pronounced. Sorry if I've confused anyone. Big hugs, Ellie and Riley 4 poly (I'm gonna have to get used to that!) Guest guest
Thanks Robbin, It seemed to go down a little yesterday when she went swimming. Maybe the cold? I'll let you know what Doc says. Hugs, Eli and Riley 4 poly
Guest guest
Hi Jona, I think Soili answered most of your questions about na. Gosh, her jra sounds a lot like Riley's. I hope you are both well today. These poor little babies. Warm thoughts sent your way. Ellie and Riley 4 poly

Guest guest
Ellie, I wish you luck. Tasie just about three days ago, her left wrist swelled up almost to the size of mine and she had a lump on it. It was a pretty good size, not a bug bite or anything of the sort and it was pretty painful. Nobody had any idea what it was...just more stuff to go along with our kids specialty. Love to all, Casaria and Tasie
