Guest guest
OK, I have a thought. At our 6-flags here in Cleveland (gooo tribe:) I had to say that, sorry! If you have a cast or splint or brace on you leg you are suppose to go to the office at the ticket center and get a special colored braclet on your wrist. I believe 3 other friends can get the same band and then you can go to the front of every line with no standing and waiting with them. I have seen several adults and kids do this. If there is any way to identify ourselves I guess it would be with a medical note of necessity, or an ID of some sort. Perhaps a phone call to 6-flags can shed some light on this. I hope this helps as we look forward to summer activities. Carolyn Mullin 42 with JRA
Guest guest
Hi Robbin and Tree, You guys are so lucky to have an amusement park close to home. We don't have any here on Maui. We do have a 4 day county fair once a year and part of the excitement is because they bring in a few rides. Looks like this year Josh will actually be tall enough to be able to ride, too : ) Tree, I hope you'll be able to fix or replace your scooter soon. They do come in very handy. Aloha, Georgina I saw that you all have season passes to your local six flags park ! We have the Kentucky Kingdom six Flags just 10 minutes from our house. It's become the summer place for myself and Matt and ussually a friend or two of his to go hang out alot! But I too have to use my scooter if I want to feel decent the next day. Ours has the full water park as a part of it, and that's where I like to hang out , Fighting those waves is like the best therapy session because its so fun and yet your loose as a goose when you walk out of the pool lol. I solved a bad shoulder problem in that pool. But last summer I also broke my wrist while swimming , so it is always good for us to be a bit mindful of the fact that we do have limitations. I was back in the two weeks later with my splint on my wrist but not in the deep water , just where I could stand. I had to! and I say that because I felt after 10 days of not being in that pool , the progress I had made with my shoulder was ..unravelling so to speak ! I haven't had too much trouble with my shoulder since the park closed last year. We already have are passes for this year and went on Saturday! I was on foot saturday because my scooter died....may she rest in peace!!!!!!! but of course it took me two full days to recover from the swollen ankles, swollen knees and back pain. I know I know, Matt twice said Mom let's go get you a wheelchair, but I was determined that I was going to try it just to see if I could do it. Well I think the results weren't too bad , and I felt very accomplished and proud that I made it for almost 6 hours without a wheelchair or scooter. At least that enviroment is friendly with ramps and benches where ever you need them!!!!!! The thing I griped the most about was the sunburn I got ....I think it was more wind burn that anything because the wind was enough to blow a body away LOLOL As for standing in the long line well its funny when Faces gets together , if we happen to be all standing around talking , you soon notice us all start the JRA shuffle, no its not a new dance craze its simply a coping device for standing too long. We all start shifting our weight from one foot to the other and you sway back and forth and that way no one joint is being taxed too much .... it may look a strange but you'd be surprized how well it works and also standing with your knees locked straight is rough too I will stand on one leg and beend the knee of the other leg to give it a rest until the other knee needs a rest and reverse the process lolol You may come across a being a bit figidy but oh well!!!LOLOLOLOLOL better figidy than falling on the ground ...now that's embarrassing !!!!LOLOL I think I 've completed this novel now.....well maybe not ........but I'm going to say good bye anyways lol Take care :):):)Tree:):):)
Guest guest
Mullin here at six flags over ga as long as you are in a wheelchair you can do this they give you a handicap booklet and you just go in the exit and they allow your group to go with you and you dont wait in line the reason we have to take s wheelchair is i am not paying 20.00 to rent one there lolol cant walk the whole distance at that park those hills are really bad so she walks some then sits its really fun though this year she wants to ADVENTURE the roller coasters i am kinda saying no you shouldnt do that but she will say mom whats the fun in going if theres no ADVENTURE in seeing what the rides feel like well i cant take away the fun nor can i take away from her what every teenager does so my rule is that if she can get one of her uncles to ride the ride with her she can ride them theres 2 that she CANT ride and she knows it if she comes home hurting or hurts the next day she cant ride that ride anymore i am letting her make a choice if she wants to suffer more pain than the ride is worth am i on nerves when she goes YES do i pray YES do i cross my fingers YES do i wish her fun YES with a child with JRA you have to let go and let them make choices as someone here said good or bad just be there if they fall yall have fun at six flags Robbin

Guest guest
this is such luck, i went to paramount carowinds saturday. there i got a handicapped pass, you get one at guest services. then, instead of going in the entrance to each ride, you in thru the exit. you show it to whoever is running the ride and they put on asap! it is very kewl cuz all the walking is hard enuff without waiting forever in lines. the only diff is that if its extremely crowded, theyll stamp your little pass booklet with a time, then you come back at that time and you get on no matter what or how crowded it is. its a blessing, and they also let you take 3 friends with you. it really helped us alot. i am incredibly sore but i got to ride every ride cuz we only had to wait, time stamp, at one ride. i think the bracelet idea is kewl tho, cuz its hard holding on to that booklet while youre flying on a roller coaster, lol. have fun if you go, brandy Re: Six Flags OK, I have a thought.
