Guest guest
Dear All - It has been exactly one week since my daughter Halie (6 1/2, Poly) was Dx'd. Just when you think that life is passing you by so very quickly, your life takes an unexpected turn and you find yourself living day by day! I am referring to this time as my " blessed burden " . In many ways, I feel that I have received a wake-up call of sorts, and in other ways I feel as though life has just dealt me a huge blow. I found out this week that this is the first case of JRA that my Pediatrician has Dx'd since he started practicing in my town (about 3 yrs. ago). It was somewhat of a sad reminder that my daughter is carrying a disease that affects only 1 in 1000 children. On the other hand I found myself feeling even more driven to educate myself, my child, my family, and my community on this disease. I am so very grateful that I have had the means to find so much information and first-hand experience to get me through this. Once again, I thank each and everyone of you for your encouragement and your willingness to open yourselves to share your own experiences. It has meant more than you know! Since I am new to this group and I am seeing new faces popping up here almost daily, I wondered if it would be alright to have a " roll call " of sorts. I am curious to know where everyone is from, how many children they have, diagnoses, etc. so I can get to know everyone and maybe others who have been here for awhile can refresh their memory banks too. What do you think? I'll start............. :)God Bless(:
