Dear , n got her 10 year old vaccines in May, and then came down

with the disease in August. She was sick for two weeks and then got better.

The doctors said that the sore throat, fevers, itching , and rash were

just a virus. Then we had nothing until Nov. She got a flu shot, and one

week later she was really sick and ended up in the hospital and we got a

diagnosis of systemic JRA. The ped. rheumy recommended that we never get a

flu shot again. We will never know what triggered it, but we did not get a

flu shot this year. n is now due for her 12 year old vaccines, and the

doctor will exempt us from them. If I had a young child I honestly don't

know what I would do. n has most of her shots, so missing the 12 year

old ones isn't too much of a big thing to me. n is now on plaquenil,

naprosyn and .75mg prednisone. She has been waking up with a sore throat

recently, but it goes away by mid morning. I don't know if it is the JRA or

allergies, or what. I just dropped her from 1mg to .75mg about four days

ago. I am so anxious to get her off of the steroids, and hope never to put

her on them again. She has been weaning off now for almost a year. Good

luck. P>S> I have no idea what time the email is on. We are all

from around the world.
