Georgina,

Just a quick question to you or anyone who will know. McKenzie has been

taking the Mexto. for about three weeks now and has a sore in her mouth. My

husband and I saw something once before about how to take care of them or to

help them on this list. I can't seem to find it now, if you remember could

you please let us know again.

Thank you for you help.

Re: I am new too

Hi Diane,

I'm glad your daughter has such a positive attitude about it. (kris,

Ashton, too!) It's hard. People can be so rude sometimes, not even

realizing that their off-handed comments can hurt deeply. It must be

bothersome for her. For my son, I guess the issue for him is his lack of

height, short staure. He's still just 3 feet 11 inches (10 1/2 inches by

some measurements). He's the littlest boy in his 5th grade. They don't

really label him as such though. Instead, it's oh you're that smart kid!

You always get on the Honor Roll. Or, you're the one that won all those

art contests! So, we tend to focus on those more positive traits. He

knows he's short. For now, he seems okay with it.

Thanks for writing :)

Aloha,

Georgina

Hi Diane,

Sorry I didn't respond sooner, I have been out of town. (In LA with my

daughter's

high school dance team.) I will have Robbie e-mail ne, it would be great

if they could talk about JRA related issues. By the way, we live in Idaho.

Thanks, Jana

Jana,

Thanks for responding, that would be great. We look forward to hearing from

him. I hope you had fun in L.A. You were in my neck of the woods. Many

blessings to you. Diane

Dear Ellie,

Just wanted to welcome you to the group--you've found a great bunch of

people here that can really relate. I think we've all gone " blank " at

that first dr. visit as it's so hard to grasp. Just know we're all in

this together--to vent, ask questions, cry or laugh. Again welcome!

and Kate-- (6 1/2--dx.at age 3 with severe polyarticular jra and

avascular necrosis of both hips)
