Subject: U GUYS R GREAT! (Plus New product info.)-Sorry so long

Hi All-I have to agree, this is such a great group! It has certainly been a God send for me. It's so great to be a part of such a supportive network of people. Repositioning or not, banding or not, plagio w/ tort or not, etc., we are all here to support eachother and share our experiences! It's all about our kids! I've learned so much and will be forever grateful. With that, I wanted to share with you guys another product that I found in a catalog that supposedly aids in the prevention of plagio. I get this catalog called "One Step Ahead", with all sorts of baby safety products and other baby products. In addition to selling the Boppy "Noggin' Nest" which I know someone posted about earlier, there is also a product called the "Head-n-Back to Sleep", which is described as a unique pillow that molds to baby's head to relieve pressure. Here's the write up:Keep baby safely on his back...without inviting "flathead". Back sleeping is one of the best ways you can reduce the risk of SIDS, as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the SIDS Alliance. But we've learned that back sleeping babies are prone to positional plagiocephaly or "flathead". That's why a team of reconstructive surgeons designed this wonderful preventative system. The two foam rolls and mat keep baby safely on his back, while the unique "memory foam" pillow conforms to baby's head, relieving pressure and discouraging flathead. Made of special fabric that maximizes airflow. Size adjustable; machine washable. Imported.Price: $16.95You can check it out on-line at www.onestepahead.comPerhaps you parents with younger babies may benefit from this product. I don't know what kind of research has been done on this product, but I wish I had known about it when Jack was just a newbie. I should also add that my husband's sister noticed her baby developing a flat head at about 4 weeks (very slight). I told her about the Noggin' Nest that I learned about from this group and she immediately when out and got one and it seems to be working! He's now 4 months and his head is no worse than it was at 4 weeks. She really attributes it to the Noggin' Nest!Anyways, just thought I'd share. I haven't posted much lately. I will give an update on Jack soon. We're going to our follow-up visit to our cranio-facial plastic surgeon on Friday, hopefully he'll give us an estimate of how much longer in the band. I brought him in to our pediatrician yesterday because he's had a fever. Our ped can't get over how much better his head looks in less than 2 months, which is so encouraging to hear! And, next week we're FINALLY having a PT evaluation for his tort. Love to ALL!, Jack's mom (DOCbanded 5/15/01)Cheshire, CTFor more plagio info
