Please, please don't use anything at all by mouth without your doctor's

approval. What's safe for most people could be very harmful for those of us with

liver disease. Don't use the OTC diuretic or anything else without discussing it

with your doctor!

The swelling and stiffness seems unaffected by medication, you've found.

However, you only know that it's unaffected by the medication you've taken.

There may be other treatment that is specific for this problem.

I hope your doctor responds soon to your e-mail, so you can begin talking about

the cause of your problem and move on to the appropriate treatment. Ask about

the possibility of other autoimmune diseases.

Keep in touch on this; I'd really like to know how it goes.

upon waking, I first thought it was a side effect of prednisone but now that i

am off that med I still have swelling and stiffness. This is a little depressing

since I am only 23 and I feel like I have arthritis. It is somewhat crippling.

> It does improve after 30min or so but does anyone have any suggestions on how

to improve or manage this problem. I try to watch my salt intake but I'm not

even sure that the swelling is directly correlated with my sodium intake. How

can I deal with this?
