I live in a house that I have to climb stairs to get to the main level. I guess we will have to look for a " flat house " in the future. I believe my husband has the same problem with his knees. The best expectations you can have is that you WILL hear. It may be just crummy sounds, or real environmental sound, but that is the beginning! Each hour it will sound a little better. If you understand voices right away, don't tell us because that's the same as a pregnant woman giving birth and being skinny within 24 hours and you could be in trouble! <grinning, I'm really not violent!> Anyway - just try to relax about it. Remind all around you that relearning to hear is exhausting and you'll be cooking very little. Restaurants are a great place to break in your new hearing (even if you need to turn the CI off for a little while because all that sound is so new).
