Guest guest
I think it is probably a good idea to take URSO for AIH.Mainly because they are finding more and more people with PBC/AIH overlapping..and URSO is proven to treat PBC.not a cure but a great treatment. I tends to improve it in early stages and can help you to stay in early stages .and lessening the chance of progressing. It also helps with treating the itchies we get. I hope you AIHers are taking your prednisone if you are supposed to..also whichever other medication your doctor has you on.be it immuran or CellCept or cyclosporin. Very important. I went to an ALF Conference last week.and sat in on and AIH talk..... I found out that YES.your liver will regenerate when you take your meds...........that is why after your liver (AIH) is under control you may be able to go off meds for a time.from a matter of months to a year or so! I saw slides of a AIH liver before during and after treatment..the liver itself was once again all smooth and the natural color.no sign of liver disease.hurray! Then a flare comes and you start all over agin.but, hey this is better then we PBCers.all we can do is try to stay stable and if we have to have a transplant like I did.then take your URSO after and pray it doesn't come back. So.keep on with the nasty prednisone! Joanne Jj Cathcart jjcathcart@...
