Guest guest
Sorry, I had to reply to this...I have no idea how many people are receiving the message...but I have so much sympathy for everyone that has written a message, you wouldn't believe. I am so sorry that houses catch on fire, people get painful illnesses, and the ones who share and care suffer. I have it set on my computer , so I guess : ) that I get all the messages... I truly believe that all the people...ALL of the people in this group should be blessed and cherished like the angels that they are. I am a dork trying to learn all this math etc. on my own and you all keep me going. I am working in some books and actually learning. I have never been good at math and my son was showing me how to do some of the work. I graduated high school only knowing how to add, subtract and multiply. I also have a reading problem, when it comes to instructions...I usually look for the picture or ( diagram .) So, it is hard for me to teach myself. I just had to let you know that ALL of you are very supportive and are helping me through this and I will pass in March : ) As God will bless you and your lives to peacefully guide you through and help you pass through the hard times. I am praying for all of you. Guest guest
Hi Ann, That was so nice - don't apologize for the empathy you feel. And don't fee like a " dork " . Everyone has to start someplace and we are all here to help you through the rough spots (even the personal ones as you can see). Ask all the questions you have to - there is always someone here who is more than qualified to answer whatever question pops up. These are really a great group of people. Guest guest
Hi, All, Just wanted to report in the following GOOD things. Like Hal, I received my $50 cash from the survey yesterday, too - THANKS, BOB!!! My husband couldn't believe it when he saw actual cash through the mail, but was delighted for me. He wants to know if I need a 1099 now! LOL Also, thanks to all of you who gave info on the Freedom microphone covers. I dug out all my boxes and found the spares that came with mine and changed the cover. Holy Moly! It is THAT much better! I used the Freedom ear on the phone this morning and could hear AND understand! I can't wait to go out and try it in the real world today! ) Jackie
Guest guest
Hi, Thanks I have not been on, bit today I think I over did it, lifted maybe to much.. oops my one incision is red and aching and raised now. i was feeling so good, went shopping and well the rest is history. Hope everyone is well > > <hutchee@...> Hi, happy the surgery is over. The more you can walk the faster the gas will be able to be " expelled " (giggle) from your body. > > and Janna is right.often in surgery of that sort they blow in air to see better (they also do that in colonoscopy)......... ************* Now to W. who wrote .see below. I am so sorry you are at that stage of PBC.I remember that part well. I too would wake up in the morning with bloody streaked legs from digging in my sleep. I tried wearing cotton cloves but more often then not I took them off in my sleep.but I guess it worked well enough. I took the Atarax but there is a spell when it doesn't work well enough..... sadly when you get a bit sicker with the PBC the itching actually goes away..... usually stage 3. Keep taking your Urso ands hopefully you will not progress past that.... But.we do have a few PBCers that have been at stage 4 since the beginning!!! AND, they don't even have bad encephalophy! They will most likely never need TX.and their docs have even said that. I too had the ascites.but mine wasn't bad enough where they had to do anything. Had bad nausea so took the Phenergen which worked great. Good luck Joanne " linda_wootten > Tue Nov 14, 2006 5:30 am (PST) > I itch alot; my back & legs mostly. I have a great back scratcher. And I have two medications to help with this. > I have PBC & really had no symptoms for the longest time. Guest guest
Ken, Great post! It's about time we discussed issues in a civil manner and without egos which always seem to get in the way. The strangest and in a way, funniest result of all the negative posts is that, at the end of the day, who the heck got rid of this dreaded disease? Absolutely no one. Who's right, who's wrong doesn't matter. What matters to me, and for me to keep reading these posts, is that no posts become personal or abusively self righteous. That's the chief reason your post was so important, as well as what you wrote. I have only been on 3 tx's, not 5 (sounds absolutely horrible) and am on a liver transplant list here in Florida. I'm not sure if that's the answer, though. A lot of self torture, then going back on tx, and with all those rejection drugs, I just don't know. Therefore, I have recently been seeing a homeopathic guy and doing what I can to prolong life, at least until they may have drugs that really kill this horroble virus. Good to have you back and keep up the knowledgeable posts! Thanks for today's refreshments! > > Hello Bob and all, > > If you do an advanced search using my name, Leep, you will > see that I have posted here from time to time. Guest guest
J " classylassy26150 Welcome to our group. May I ask first name is...... I am Joanne a Moderator of the group. Hopefully your husband will join a group and stop playing the deniel game as it dsn't do him or anyone else any good. Certainly won't make him feel any better.BUT many people do that........ And, we all have to make our own choices in this life..as to how we deal with the stuff of life. NAUSEA...nausea for me was the very first symptom I had ( I have PBC ) In the beginning I just used the cola syrup that pregnat women use (you can get it at the pharmacy just ask them for a pint bottle) I also drank Ginger tea....I didn't make it but bought the organic tea. I also drank good old Ginger Ale..and always had real peppermint hard candies at hand.along with the lemon gard candy.as that is also good for the dry mouth. Then I discovered I could buy capsules of ginger.so I was taking that supplement a couple times a day. When the nausea got very bad I went on Phenergen. For me that woeked terrific and stayed on that until transplant. But.I do have to say that the last couple months I was vomiting anyway............ BRENDA HILLBILLY..just a shout out to you. HI! Guest guest
Hi Vickie, Not all protein shots are good for you. Bipley is the one to ask on this board. Some of the Protein shots are NO more than boiled cow hyde. I stick with what I know is good protein and that is Premier Protein drink. Read how may grams of sugar they have in them, how many carbs they have and what is the amount of protein you are getting? If you have an upset stomach it must be something that you are eating that you can't tolerate. So try to figure out what you have eaten that upsets your stomach. I have a friend that Mayo is something that she can't have. Suzanne
Guest guest
Hi Vickie, I am always glad to help. I just know that some of the Protein Shots from Wal-Mart aren't so good. Glad you figured out what was upsetting your stomach. There are ways around some of these thing. Maybe another brand of Chicken broth might be better, or you make some of your own. Guest guest
Hi Vicki, Can't help you with protein shots but I too had the problem of the upset tummy. Anytime I would eat anything my tummy felt slightly upset. But it went away about 2 months after surgery. I think it was just my tummy letting me know it wasn't totally healed yet. I'm 3 months out now and have no problems whatsoever unless I eat too fast. Cheryl*

Guest guest
Vicki, My high weight was 250; surgery weight was 240 and I am NOW (drum roll please...) 197!!! Back in ONE-derland for the first time in YEARS! And the weight is still melting off slowly but surely. I feel terrific, I look terrific, and I am no longer a prisoner of my FAT! I can cross my legs, walk my dogs, get down on the floor AND back up again (LOL). I can paint my toenails without getting out of breath! OH! And I'm off of 2 of my meds due to the weight loss! This was the best thing I have ever done for myself. Cheryl
