Guest guest
OUCH! From what people have said, shingles are terribly painful! I hope that you will get the meds you need. If you need something else, I have a " recipe " using essential oils that I had my Mom use when she had the shingles and it really got better! Also, the literature indicates that Neurontin can help with the pain...good luck! Debby [ ] Another new problem. This one is a doozie! I had complained about back pain which began last Thursday. It was severe enough to keep me awake alot a night. I tried to see my M.D. Monday but he was full & settled for a Tues. appt. In the meantime, I went with my sister to a guy who does the auricular accupuncture to stop smoking. And Monday night I did not sleep at all-it drove me crazy! I did smoke one cigarette on that sleepness night. Tuesday my doctor looked at my back and said, " kiddo, have you looked at your back? " To my surprise, I've got a terrible case of shingles. And they are just as pain- ful as people say. I now have pain pills, & those for the actual virus, and Lidocaine pathches that are cut & placed on the lesions for 12 hrs. & off for 12hrs.Now, I've got a high pain threshold ; delivered 3 babies w/o anesthesia and was up & about after a few surgeries without difficulty. These shingles are the worst thing that I've had to endure. I still intend to go back to the have the smoking thing repeated. You can go for 45 days to have it repeated. I don't feel one cigarette on a night of absollutely no sleep & considearble pain should not count
Guest guest
I did get some very helpful meds. I have Lidocaine patches that you cut to size and place directly onto the areas (on for 12hrs, then off for 12 hrs.), Vicodin for the pain, every six hrs. & then of course, Valtrex which works on the virus that causes this. It's much more tolerable now. Thank you. tdcc2000@... wrote: OUCH! From what people have said, shingles are terribly painful! I hope that you will get the meds you need.
