Guest guest
Hi Sherry, As far as the cholesterol problem - I have been taking Lipitor since I had my 4th stroke in April 2001. My cholesterol had always been around 125, but was 264 the day of the stroke. No medical reason has ever been established for the strokes. My PCP, GI and Hep all know I take it and all know I have both AIH and PBC. None of them feel it will harm the liver and it keeps my cholesterol at a much lower level. I was the same as you - diet and exercise did not lower it at all. Course, everyone is different and every doctor seems to have a different opinion on things. Can't help you with your other questions - I found out today I'm not going to be able to quit working as planned. I got notification today that my long-term disability insurance rejected my partial disability claim (I'm hanging onto 30 hours per week for the medical insurance). They say a blood test I had before I started working at my present job showed elevated liver enzymes, so therefore the AIH and PBC were pre-existing. I was planning on taking full-time disability once the claim was approved. Good luck, Sandy
