Guest guest
If U have been advised not to use Tylenol, what would U be able to take for a fever or headache? The only time Kels does need pain releif is for headaches and fever(has only had 3 in her entire life). Shes concerned how kids will react Trish I know this sounds very trite, especially for a young child, but please remind her that no one is perfect and her "disfigurement" could be a lot worse. My son has a deformed ear--it sticks way out and has a little point on the top. Because it's only one ear it was more noticeable. I took him to a plastic surgeon for a consult when he was about 5 but decided to wait until he was old enough to ask for it to be done--he never did! When someone teased him about it he would say that his mother is human and his father is Vulcan ). I have a friend who's young daughter has alepecia and is completely bald. She hated wearing a wig so she went "natural" and dealt with it quite well. Maybe you can help Kels come up with an explanation she would be comfortable with. I will pray that the kids go easy on her. She has enough to deal with. Regards Elaine
Guest guest
Regular strength tylenol is ok - but you cannot exceed some ridiculously low amount per day. I think its like 750 mg - so you can't take 3 extra strength tylenol in any 24 hour period. I take ibuprofen for pain. Thankfully I haven't had much since being diagnosed with AIH. Last winter no colds at all (thanks to an over active immune system I suppose) So far this makes #3. grrrrrr and this one is by far the worst. Guest guest
TY Cora! I give Kelsey a 500 mg Tylenol every 8 hours if she needs it. Her Liver doctors were adament about no Ibruprophen, ist amazing how their opinions differ so much. I have read many labels on O/C drugs and alot say if U have liver disease U shuld consult your physican, its amazing what your liver needs to absorb. This is something I will definitely look in tomorrow at the doctors with Kelsey. Her spleen has been emnlarged a bit more than usual and her liver too but shes been off the Imuran for about 3 weeks now, I know when shes off it, her belly gets really rounded. Kelsey is VERY concerned about it, says she looks like shes carrying a beachball and school goes back Monday. Shes concerned how kids will react. I wish I could do more for her in that respect. Kids can be so cruel. Trish > > Regular strength tylenol is ok - but you cannot exceed some > ridiculously low amount per day. Guest guest
Most things containing tylenol say causes liver damage, but ibuprofen based meds don't say that...hmmmm wonder why? Regular strength tylenol is 325 mg. Cora > > > > Regular strength tylenol is ok - but you cannot exceed some > > ridiculously low amount per day.
