Well although there are federal laws against it, I know that the " well-child

visits " (immunization visits) are the only time the dr would be seeing my son

free of charge via the insurance company benefits. Does the dr do this out of

the kindness of his heart?

Dear ,

Thank you so much for your advice! It sounds like you were on prednisone

and Imuran and when they took you off Imuran, you were still taking

prednisone. I am only taking Imuran, so when I go off, I will not be

taking anything. This scares me. He said that if I relapse that I would

start all over again, 30 mg prednisone plus 50 mg Imuran, then tapering

the prednisone. The effects of this the first time were not great, and

going through it again does not seem very appealing....plus, relapses

are more difficult to control.

I responded well to the initial treatment and my LFT's never wavered up

and down like they predicted, but went to normal and have stayed there.

I may be different with this disease, but I don't think it was cured.

I wish I could consult with Dr. Goldman but I can't find her. I thought

that this disease never went away, so why take the chance. I will do

this with extreme caution.

Take care,

I thought that I would be weaned off the prednisone and would be on

imuran forever.... Maybe I misunderstood. I'm still new to all of

this. Been taking meds since February. started at 20mg of pred -

" levels " were only between 100-200 (down from 300-400 in december),

and they still aren't normal. I see my doc on Monday. I'm down to

15 mg of prednisone now. 100mg of imuran. I want off the

prednisone!
