Iron, unless you are shown to be deficient by blood analysis, should never be taken. It acts as a free radical in your body. Most people have too much iron, and the ONLY way to get rid of it is through giving blood at a local blood bank. Alas, we who are silicone toxic can no longer give blood at a local bank. Our only salvation is those montly periods, for those who have not gone through menopause.

Martha is correct. (Sounds like you have a great doctor, Martha!)

I have a book called Iron and Your Heart by Randall Lauffer, PhD, and on the cover it states this:

"A provactive study....concluded....iron in the body ranks second only to smoking as the strongest risk factor for heart disease. U.S. News & World Report"

Hate to say this, Jackie, but you should probably throw away those iron pills!

Hi Jackie,

I will have to contact my Internist / Cardiologist to find out the reasons why he told me to NEVER take anything containing iron -- as I really don't remember, however, I remember he was very adament about this! My Internist is also a Board Certified Cardiologist, who has treated over 1000 breast implant ladies in the DFW area. He does believe in alternative medicine, therefore the reason why I and many others have gone through antioxidant IV therapy with him. I had to go for over 2+ years to get to the point where I could tolerate enough vitamin C orally, and I continue to have to go back for a few "jump-starts" each year.

As soon as I find out about the iron, I will let you know, however, I do know anything containing 'iron' is a defininte "No-No" with him. Possibly, this is because of the metals already in our body?

Blessings,

MM / NSIF

Wow - thanks for the info Patty. I do have a deficiency tho. I had some blood work done about 4 weeks ago and it came back saying I was borderline anemic. Now you've got me worried. I have to go back to my doc's this week so I will check out the report again and find out what I should do.

I'm going for a live blood analysis on Tuesday. Has anyone ever had this done and if so what was your experience with it. Did you think it was hokey or did it answer some questions for ya? Just curious.....if I didn't believe in it I wouldn't have made the appt but would love some feedback on it. Thanks, Jackie

Also Patty, I forgot to mention that I've been taking the iron supplements for about 2 weeks now and I've noticed that my hair is not falling out in clumps like it was. God I hope I'm not doing more damage to my body. Do you think this live blood analysis will show that? J

Jackie,

If you have been shown to have a deficiency, then follow your doctor's advice and take the iron pills. I'm sorry to have worried you! I never mean to do that. But I would take care with iron supplements, and only take them until your deficiency is resolved, and then make sure you get your iron from good food sources.

Live blood analysis is something my naturopath recommended to me, and I have wanted to do and haven't yet. One of the ladies in California wrote to me after she had it done and was really amazed at the results of that test....it showed her blood full of all kinds of gunk...bacteria, parasites, other foul stuff, and she was able to much better target her therapy to getting rid of that stuff. I will write her again and find out what's going on since she had that done.

Glad to hear that you've noticed some good results with your hair with the supplements! That's a positive thing!

Hugs,

Patty

Thanks for the advise Patty. I did do a search after I read your post and was quite amazed at the warnings that go along with iron. I haven't noticed any of the side effects and as I said earlier my hair loss has slowed incredibly so I guess that probably means that I was definately low. My doc said he would test my blood again in 2 months to see where I'm at with it.

One of the health food stores near my home is offering a 20 minute session for $60. so I thought I'd take advantage of it. I will take a blank vhs tape as well and they will tape it for me. Cool eh? I really don't want to know what kind of gunk I have in my blood but then I really do so I know which way to go. That makes perfect sense doesn't it? J

Not a chance. For safety sake stick with food.
