Lyn,

Sorry for butting in but I read your post about the nail fungus. I work for an orthopedic surgeon who rarely prescribes the oral medication for nail fungus. He tells our patients to use Vicks Vapo Rub on the affected nail. If it's not too bad a lot of our patients say it works. Try it. Maybe it will help.

I use a myrrh, sandalwood, frankincense and a carrier oil mix to use on

my athlete’s foot problem. It clears it up immediately! It is

the only thing that has touched it for me…

That's fascinating! What exactly is it that's in VapoRub that gets rid of the fungus? My Daryl has suffered from that for ages and we've never heard that before. Thank you!

Hi Debbie,

Thanks for your e-mail. Where would I get all of these oils..? I have had this fungus on my thumb nail for at least 5 years. I tried Penlac, which is supposed to be safe for the liver, but it just never completely got rid of it.. It did look better while I was using it, but it cost me $30.00 for a very small bottle, and that was just my co-pay. Plus it barely lasted one month.

I hope you are doing well.

Happy New Year to you and Yours,

Lyn

Hi ,

You are not butting in at all. I appreciate the input.

I had heard that Vicks helps toenail fungus. It must be an antifungal type rub. I will try it. I have tried everything I know to try . I used a prescription topical polish called Penlac for over a year. It's supposedto be liver friendly. It helped, but didn't cure the fungus. (I must have a lot of fungus in my body.) I have had this problem for several yrs. It never spread from my thumb to any other fingers though..

Its very embarressing to me, as it is very thick and ugly color. I wear a band aid when I go out..

I will definitely try the Vicks.

Thanks again

Happy New Year 2004 to you, .

Blessings,

Lyn, I purchase my essential oils from various places. Generally,

there are health food stores which have the oils. Whole Foods is one for

example. The bottles are a bit pricey, BUT they will last for years

because all you need is a drop or two of oil in a little bottle of carrier

oil. For me, I just keep a little one ounce bottle with about 3 drops of myrrh

oil, 4 drops of sandalwood, and about 4 drops of frankincense and the rest a

carrier oil like jojoba oil. It just works wonders! I just rub the

stuff on my foot and within a couple of days, it is gone.

Oh, I also have used frankincense for years each morning in my face

cream. I put a drop or two on the stuff I put on my face…don’t

know that it has gotten rid of wrinkles, but it does keep my skin soft!

incense has been used for years in many countries around the world for

skin care. The myrrh, I believe, is an antifungal along with the

sandalwood, therefore it is good for fungal infections…at least, they

have been for me!

Hi Debbie,

Thanks so much for this information..

I will check around at the various health food stores here and see what I can find.

At this point, I will try anything that will not hurt my liver.

This is the ugliest thumb nail I have ever seen!!!!!

Again, thanks much.

Have a nice day,
