Guest guest
I am considering moving near my church in town which is 45 mins away from the farm I am living on. Hey Debbie I sang in church out loud last Sunday, Thanks! I had a stroke this past summer so I am a little nervous about having another one. I don't know if it was related to my liver problems but I was really sick this year with that as well. My cholestrol is really high and they can't give me statins because of the liver. Any one have this problem??? What are you doing about it? I have a great low fat diet but it doesn't help. We eat pretty much what we raise or grow. My docs will be 2 hours away at the U. If I move I will have to go back to work. I am afraid that this might make me relapse with my liver any thoughts???? I work now sort of, but it is at my own pace, how fast do you have to go to feed goats, sheep and chickens? lol! My profession is in therapy and counseling people with serious mental illness. It can be a drain. My passion is cats particularly wild ones. I also raised and trained cougars and other wild animals for exhibits. Guess I won't be doing that either <sigh> I am to old to go back to school and I don't have the energy or ambition. I have all these thoughts going around my head for the New Year. Every thing is up in the air for 2004 so I am just venting and trying to sort all this. My husband after a zillion years has decided he can't deal with my illness. I am on my own staying with a girlfriend farmer. If I don't move to town I might be able to move back to my old farm where I had my sanctuary once apon a time. If I did this I would raise meat goats and sheep. We have dairy goats where I am now. Government regs on the small dairy farmer have all but stopped our production of cheese. Some one posted something about chondritis (sp) pain in the liver area. Where was that site? Guest guest
Sherry, you are going through tons of stuff right now! WOW¡Äwhen you mentioned about training big cats, my heart raced! They are the MOST magnificent animals¡Äand only the most disciplined can do what you have done! You are awesome. Just today in the news locally, there is a cat haven that is going belly up from lack of funds and it is really sad. They have taken abused and abandoned big cats and unless something happens, the place will go under. It is so very sad because it is really needed! It is super that you decided to sing in church! I am proud of it!!! Now about working, gosh, you do have a major decision ahead of you, don¡Çt you? So sorry about your husband¡ÄGod has blessed me with a wonderful man. We have been married for 30 years, but it seems to be more difficult at times each new year¡Äbut I love him so much that we both work through the garbage. Indeed, it is taxing on him when I don¡Çt feel so good and he tries to understand. Take care. Hopefully, you will be able to get back to your ranch and enjoy being in the outdoors! Guest guest
Hi All thank you for the encouragement. I seem to be overwhelmed with everything. I had to laugh Lyn at 3:00 am this morning you talked about quite, peacful farm life and all the zillion roosters were crowing. They go off and crow their rounds all during the night. My 3 domestic cats come to the roof and my airconditioner around 5 and start complaining they want to be feed. I try to ignore them and roll over. The goats are pretty quite unless they think you have dooped them out of some grain and hay. The sheep are the most noisey next to the chickens at least they have enough sense to keep their mouths shut at night! LOL! We have a tons of goat and sheep babies coming from Feb on to May. Your midwife and nursery attendant 24/7. In May it is shearing time and garden... I guess I will move to the city for peace and quite! LOL! My big cats were really pretty easy to train. I got most of them as kittens so I had a relationship from the start. I was with them all the time. I think cougars are just like house cats with 200 pounds + on them. They are the largest of the purring cat, they purr really loud. The other cougars and wildcats that came from elsewhere it just took patience, consistancy and respect. Nothin special about it. If you are interested in seeing some of my kitty babies you can go to AOL member profile and type in sirmocah. The profile has a picture gallery. They haven't found a medical reason for my stroke either. My cholestrol is 300 + the last time checked. They said I couldn't have the meds because of the liver. I am glad to hear some one with liver problems is on meds for the cholestrol I will tell my doc I want the meds. I like the idea of Vicks for fungus I will have to try it on my toenail. I have used camphor and teatree oil that worked pretty well too. I have used myrrh for mouth sores in a mouth wash. I pray everyone has a Happy New Year full of healthy surprises!!!!!!!!
