Hi all -

I've developed a weird symptom and wondered if anyone

else has this and what you do for it. I'm getting

facial tics in my cheeks and my eyes are twitching

frequently, seemingly for no reason. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I don't know if it is nerve damage, or neurochemical imbalances, or mercury

poisoning, or what. Just that mine eventually went away, but from time to

time has flared up when I wasn't taking my magnesium as often as I was

supposed to. In my case, it was on the left side of my face for the most

part, but when it would get really bad, it would occur on both sides of my

face. I also had a lot of problems with twitching and spasming muscles.

Magnesium really helped with that, as well.

A friend was just telling me her tics were a symptom of low Magnesium.

Wow! A vacation in China! That's going to be an interesting challenge. My husband has work in China, and I always wish I could go with him -- I could fly first class, and he has a driver once he gets there. Nevertheless, it isn't even a possibility for me. My GP is also his; she isn't happy about his trips to China because he might bring some infection back to me. He won't kiss me for several days after returning, just in case he has something contagious. He takes many tiny bottles of Purel hand-cleaner with him, so he can clean his hands inconspicuously and often. He is in large cities, such as Shanghai, Beijing, Darlien, and Shenzhen.

If you still have time, get Hepatitis A and B injections. Perhaps you have done so already. (My GI gave them to me soon after I was diagnosed.) My GP insisted that my husband have them, as much for my sake as his.

Have fun, be careful, and tell us all about it when you return. I am SO envious!

Where are you in Iowa? Are you going with a group?

Dear Friends:It's been awhile since I've posted, though I read the digests thoroughly. I recently had my 3 month blood test done. Platelets have lowered more and the red cell count has shot up. The gastro is sending me to a hemotologist (also an oncologist). I'm rather bewildered and nervous about all. I'm supposed to leave next week to a vacation in China and am so excited about that. Don't want anything to put a hitch in plans. Anyone ever dealt with such results?Esther, AIH - Iowa
