When I was diagnosed with AIH, I weighed 125 pounds. I was prescribed 100 mg

Imuran, which is the amount I still take even though my weight quickly

increased to 170. For the past five years, I have blood tests each month.

During

the first few weeks, I had blood tests three times a week. I began

Prednisone at 80 mg; after six years, I'm down to 5 mg daily. My liver panels

are

stable.

Because I must change insurance plans, I'll soon see a different

hepatologist. I'll be interested in seeing whether his or her approach is the

same.

Hi everyone:

I was diagnosed with PBC/AIH in 2/2003. The hepatologist slowly increased my

dosage of Imuran to 150mg daily. Once I was stabilized he slowly dropped the

dosage to my current 50 mg daily. Between taking 1000 mg of Urso and the 50 mg

of Imuran each day my liver panel remains solidly in the normal range. However,

I am not slim like Kathy or Kay (I wear a size 12 or 14 depending on designer).

I guess much of the decision making involves how your body's response to the

medications.

Season's greetings to all.
