Guest guest
Trish, Just thought I'd butt in here (apologies Debby) with a recipe I've been using for years and (touch wood) we've not had any nasty nit problems. (As a nit killer) To 100ml's of carrier oil (anything from olive to almond oil but not canola as it's sticky) Add 20 drops lavendar oil 20 drops geranium oil 20 drops tea tree oil 20 drops rosemary oil Massage well into the scalp and wrap in plastic wrap and a towel for at least an hour (preferably overnight). Rinse well. A side effect of this will be soft, shiny, yummy hair! LOL! Use tea tree oil on the scalp, down the part and around the hairline everyday as a preventative. The little buggars HATE tea tree oil! Oh, and any essential oil will do the trick. I buy mine from the local dollar shop. Of course, the purer the oil (read more expensive), the better for aromatherapy but as a nit blaster, cheap will do. Good luck anne [ ] Lice treatment au naturel/Debby Hi DebbyWhat kinds of essential oils would be a treatment? Do U have some names or brands I can look into? We cant always get the same items in Canada as in the States but I am interested in trying. Thanks in advance Trish > > Thanks so much for he reply. Guest guest
25 drops rosemary 12 drops eucalyptus 13 drops geranium 25 drops lavender in 75 ml base oil (like jojoba oil, grapeseed oil) Boy, there are so many kinds of essentials oils…Aroma Vera is VERY expensive, but there is also Aura Cacia, Carnazzi, Nature’s Alchemy for starters. I have only purchased one of Nature’s Alchemy because they are expensive also, but Aura Cacia is fairly common. The one thing is that you want to be certain to get pure essential oils and not fragrances. It may take you a bit of a time to get your handle on the oils, but they truly are wonderful for all sorts of things….HOWEVER, before using them, be certain that the oils you use are NOT TOXIC to your liver. Just because things are “natural” it doesn’t necessarily mean it is good for you. Personally, I use geranium and lavender nearly every day. Eucalyptus is extremely deadly if ingested (my daughter drank some and we found out from poison control…long story, but she is OK). However, I use it often when the allergies and colds hit. Good luck. PS…essentials are not cheap. It is less painful to purchase them little by little. Debby [ ] Lice treatment au naturel/Debby Hi Debby What kinds of essential oils would be a treatment? Guest guest
No problem anne! Your recipe is easier! I personally have not tried it, but have confidence in it. I just am a big time believer in the essential oils! I can tell that you are too!
