Guest guest
I have been reading a book that is very interesting information in it. It is by Palmer, MD " Hepatitis & Liver Desease " It gives every liver disease there is in it. One Statement points out in the book and I strongly agree. Is that A Gastoligist doesn't always now everything about liver diseases they tend to put off tx. because they just think it is imflamation of the liver. My self I went to a Gastoligist and my Alt got up to 2000 and she still thought it was imfamation. My family Dr desided to refrer me to a Hepatoligist who imedetaly ordered a biopsy and dx me with AIH ,and in the book believes that that is the best Dr. to see if you have a liver disease. This is only my openion though. Any way the book is awsome. ( by the way I got the book used on the internet for $3.00) Also to the new comer, It is nice to always tell the lab you want a copie of your lab work. My Hepotoligist does not always get back to me very quickly so then I know what my labs are I wait for them in the clinic. This way you can also keep track of your number and refer back to them. Guest guest
Mike I live in New York. I have RSD, disc problems, thryoid and pituitary problems. I applaud your effects for trying to effect change. I wish you all the luck. This country greatly needs an overall in our healthcare system. The system needs to be changed. Pain patients aren't taken seriously, the elderly aren't taken seriously, I could go on and on and on. I have learned to change drs. if they don't have your best interests at heart. I too almost died because drs didn't listen to me and take me seriously. Not all drs. get the same results. Not all drs. know what they are doing. I went to 3 other pain drs. before I found the dr. I'm using now, the dr that finally helped me. My dr explained to me that the stim wouldn't take away all the pain, but it seems that there are drs that tell their patients that it will solve all their problems. > > > > >
Guest guest
Mike Yes, I have heard of the " Spoon " theory. I've used it myself to describe to others what it's like to be in chronic pain. The website does have some wonderful tips. It's a very clever way to tell someone to do things in moderation. It drives me crazy when someone tells me that I look too good to be in pain.
