Guest guest
Hi all. I signed up to this group a few years ago but have never posted if I recall. My name is Dave and I was diagnosed AIH about 6 years ago. Iam 31 years old. I am in the Royal Air Force as an avionics techie fixing planes but my 9 year engagement is up in a four months and after much begging the raf will not renew my contract. So effectively Iam being made redundant. This has always been at the back of my mind for the last few years but I always hoped things might change and I get an extension of service. But sadly it has not happened and I am faced with the scary reality of going out onto to civvie street with no job. The military in the uk is exempt from the disability discrimination act and even though I have not had a single day off sick for 9 years Iam classed as a liability and let loose! I just thought I would share this as iam a bit stressed out and worried.
