Guest guest
He wow Sandy, good to hear that remission can be achieved!! Keep it up! From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of silkybfp Sent: maandag 20 juni 2005 22:22 Subject: [ ] Good news for a change! Today my hep said I no longer have to see him as my AIH has been in remission for over a year now - stopped taking Prednisone and Imuran in April 2004. We'll schedule a once a year appointment to be cancelled if I am still doing fine. LFT's dropped to every 3 months rather than monthly. He feels my GI, who is local - hep is an hour away, can handle the PBC and the quarterly LFT's. Now I can concentrate on getting my knees taken care of - one needs replacement and the other will in the near future. Sandy C.
Guest guest
Great news . Hope the knees work better when they are done. You are in for alot of rehab. I have one more shoulder to get done and then we start on the knees. After the knees it's my hips. What fun I will have.
Guest guest
Hi all! Altho I usually don't type in often, and when I do it's with a question about latest thing gone wrong with me... I got a major surprise this week! I have to have fluid drawn off about every 3 months. Diraretics and I don't get along, they make me ill and drop my potassium dangerously low. So I made the decison to take myself off all meds, and just live with the pain and hassle of being " drained " . Well had it done again on the 19th of Feb. They got about 7 liters/15lbs of fluid and I felt pretty good when I left the hospital. but within 4 hours I was sicker than a dog and would have bet thet had hit an organ or bowel. Spent the weekend living off codiene and on Monday went to see Dr. She sent me to lab in a rush, fearing it was a Staph infection. I had one several years ago that almost killed me and did much of the damage that my Liver has suffered. Well, thankfully it wasn't Staph! Appears to be viral. But to the good news! My platelets, liver functions and CBC were all improved!! Now it isn't world peace or even a cookie! but the first time things have moved in the good direction!! I have a follow up appt today and hope they can help with virus, but just had to share my small victory. Hugs to all! Guest guest
Tina, thanks for sharing! Any victory is a good one, no matter the size. And what might seem a small victory for those unlike us is a much bigger victory for those like us. Fingers crossed for you visit tomorrow.
