Reminder to people to be watchful for Prednisone-induced (or encouraged)

cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, hypertension, bone loss. Your doctor may not

think to arrange testing for these, so you must be on top of it.

I must have cataracts removed, which is no big deal. My opthalmologist says

he has no doubt that taking Prednisone caused them to develop quickly and

early. The trade-off has been and excellent one; I've gone from being

extremely

ill upon diagnosis to being in pretty good shape these days. Without Prednisone

and Azathioprine, I have no doubt that I'd be dead. How fortunate we are in

this time and place, to have access to appropriate treatment.

Yes, I'm delighted at the prospect of cataract removal. Last year I was told

I had about ten years to go before insurance would cover the process. I wrote

only to remind people to check at intervals for a group of prednisone-related

problems.

Another success story - how wonderful. I'm so happy you are feeling so well and

doing so good. You so deserve that. I pray for you and your daughter ever

since I got in this group. Your woneful attitude is the best thing for you and

it's why you're so healthy right now. I'm really happy today - - feeling so

elated about all this good news. I love this support group !!!

Hugs.

Good luck with the cataract removal. My dad said it's not big deal and was

actually excited about how beautiful the world had become that he didn't realize

he was missing. It's so gradual that you don't realize. No matter how " no big

deal " we see it it's still something that we'd rather avoid then have happen so

keep that great attitude and strong brave stance on your procedures. You are a

good example.

Dee, indeed you and Harper have placed the cards on the table! We are blessed

to live in a time where we indeed DO have appropriate treatment in order to live

a long and full life!
