Guest guest
Interestingly enough, my liver doc's only recommendation for an AIH expert to see is Dr. Czaja. I just looked at the Doctor Referral by Name list. There are 334 names on it and Dr.Czaja is not on it. Has anyone ever seen him? Is he taking new patients or doing research only? Is he still at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester? Kay, AIH/PBC > > My hep cited this article in developing my treatment plan. Have any of you heard of it? > > " A very current update on autoimmune hepatitis was published in " Gastroenterology " just recently (July 2010, Volume 139, No. 1, pages 58-72) by one of the world's leading experts on autoimmune hepatitis, Dr. Albert Czaja). For patients with an " incomplete " response, the recommendation is to use prednisone in combination with Imuran or 6-MP but at a dose of 2 mg/kg of body weight. Based on your current weight, that would be 150 mg daily of 6-MP. In your case, I would highly recommend increasing the 6-MP to 150 mg daily (since you have been tolerating this fairly well) before trying a medication like Cellcept.
