Guest guest
what do you guys know about surgical treatments for ascites like TIPS? I need info on a different one pronounced " forex " but in a search that just brings up online trading stuff. Some proceedures seem horrific, like the one where they actually tie off blood vessels coming from internal organs and re-rout all your plumbing. No chance of healing after having all your guts spliced is there. The jaundice has worked it's way out of me, every doc and nurse is amazed at my improvement, but i need to be drained weekly now, and even that seems too long - that's how quick the fluid fills up, 11 litres removed every time. If this is the channel my body is exploiting to remove toxins then okay, but the fluid got lighter until the color and turbidity was perfect. So it's time to look for a way to remove my dread at being caught on a weekend fully pressurized and no possibility of getting an outpatient appointment. Anyone have suggestions? alex
Guest guest
, I know that some people here have spoken of this, but not recently. This must be a miserable situation to be in. I wish I had information. However, you say, " No chance of healing after having all your guts spliced is there " Nonsense. Many of us have had our guts spliced in all sorts of ways and have healed so well that we're no longer on the site! People here have had far more extensive work done than what you describe. The procedure you speak of doesn't sound any more horrific than having a transplant, for example! Although I can't provide any information, I wanted to write immediately to give you a statement of support. For what it's worth, I'll be thinking of you, hoping you'll find a solution soon. Best wishes. Harper [ ] ascites treatments what do you guys know about surgical treatments for ascites like TIPS? Doctors have since told me that with TIPS your intellect is gone for good because your brain is forever swimming in ammonia. Just got out of the hospital, sudden total weakness and stomach cramps, " caregiver " not answering her phone, had to dial 911, lucky i did because i had e.coli in my anemic blood. Paramedics abused me, two of them, and made fun of my moaning, one of the two. Anyone else noticed that the more helpless you get, like wheelchair bound, the more people abuse you? A good nutrition tip though: want something ready to eat, easy to digest, with organic carrots, organic peas, sometimes with other soup/stew vegetable organics like celery and onion, and sometimes with organic pasta or grains/cereals, sometimes chicken, turkey or beef around 3 grams of protein, 40-110 calories, ultra low sodium, .49 cents to a little over a dollar? It's ORGANIC BABY FOOD!!!! Clearly easier on your liver than weird fractionated proteins like whey protein, soy protein isolate, etc. > > > > > > > > [ ] ascites treatments > > > > > > what do you guys know about surgical treatments for ascites like TIPS? Guest guest
, this must be a hard time for you. Your message is down below mine, incidentally. TIPS doesn't cause " your intellect to be gone for good " . I'm sorry that your attendants gave you that idea. TIPS doesn't harm your brain. However, the conditions it treats, portal hypertension and liver damage, may cause considerable mental confusion. I had a hard time thinking when I was first diagnosed, so I remember the frustration and difficulties. Please, please talk to your doctors about how you're feeling. And, talk to them about your diet. Baby food may be just what you need, or it may not be good for you as a complete diet. I don't know. It's possible that you need to be on a low-protein diet. Only your doctor can tell you; you need to talk to him or her about what you eat. Was it a doctor who told you that you " had e coli in your anemic blood " ? I want to emphasize that I am not a doctor. I have no medical training at all. I'm just someone who has had liver disease and reads about it. What do your doctors say you should be doing now? You're in a serious situation. You need to make sure you're getting complete advice and instructions from your doctors, and you must follow those directions exactly. This is the case for any of us with liver disease. Do you have family near you? Do they understand your needs? Are they able to help? Guest guest
Doctors took labs, they had to, that's what they found, e.coli in my blood and peritoneal fluid, and i'm on two powerful antibiotics. And my haemoglobin is stable at it's highest, only about 8.0, about a fourth what it should be. More than one gave the ammonia warning about TIPS. Only my gastroenterologist can be trusted, and the radiologic crews always seem sane even in the worse hospitals. Other doctors made me fight since May to finally test me for auto-immune causes, vindicating me too late, so no, i've learned not to listen to doctors and you must be blessed that you were never given reason to stop trusting, > > > > > > , I know that some people here have spoken of this, but not recently. > > > > This must be a miserable situation to be in.
