Guest guest
Hi Jayne - these nrs look good. Please could you keep us updated on this. I'm interested to follow as my boy ( 8 yrs) has the same problem since 2 yrs (Dec 2003) - we are still doing 17.5mgs of Pred on alternate days and still reducing (in comb with Azathioprine and Ursocol). Will keep everything crossed for Zachary that all goes well. I know another family in Brazil who's son (now around 13 yrs old) has been of Pred for 5 yrs!!! Something for us all to hope for. Take care - you're not alone. Guest guest
My bloodowork will not be back for another week for the PA test. The only thing I know right now is my Potassium is now at 3.3 by taking the supplements, my Vitamin D came back low at 12(guess it is supposed to be between 30-100), and my Parathyroid test is normal. Everything else was normal. Why would my Vitamin D be low? Of course, I never drink milk. And I live in a cold climate and I am rarely outside. They are calling in script for Vit D supplements. No relation to PA though? Lisinopril has dropped my BP. So far anyways.
Guest guest
She said the renin results are not in yet.(I am assuming that is what they tested for,she just said test for PA have not come back yet) She said they take about a week. But yes, I was on HCTZ when blood was drawn.Low sodium, sort of. At the time, I wasn't really DASHing, but I also was not using any table salt in any foods at all. And was not eating junk food. So if they come back normal, could be a false negative? Yes, K was low. They are still not sure if it was from HCTZ though and drinking caffeninated beverages at the same time. Body is still responding to .5 Liprinisol. 121/81 this morning. Watching it because I was on HCTZ. If it creeps up, the low numbers yesterday and today could be a result of the HCTZ being in my system still. In a message dated 11/16/2009 12:39:37 P.M. If it is not low then not likely PA. But then you were on diuretics and low sodium when it was drawn?
