I am new to this website and am also a member of the Still's disease website as

I am seeing a doc at Duke for what is suspected to be Still's disease. I have

been sick for about a year and a half and out of work since Sept 2009. At this

time I started having elevated liver enzymes and I had a liver biopsy last week.

I received a call from the doctor yesterday and he feels I most likely have

autoimmune hepatitis and wonders if we should be treating this with high dose

prednisone and Imuran instead of treating Still's disease with Enbrel. He wants

the pathologist at Duke to look at the actual slide and give a second opinion.

So now I am working on getting that taken care of. I have an appointment Friday

at Duke to see my rheumatologist. I have been reading about AIH and have found

that it usually accompanies some other autoimmune disease such as lupus or RA.

So for now I am still not taking any Enbrel.

The diagnosis of the biopsy reads as follows:

Mild chronic hepatitis, unclassified with portal fibrosis, Stage I, mild port

triaditis, mild steatosis.

I know the doctor said the biopsy showed some inflammation and lymphocytes as

well as mild fat. I have been trying to read and figure out what the staging

means. Just wondering if anyone else has any comments. I am concerned and

anxious to see what the pathologist at Duke has to say. Just wondering if anyone

has any thoughts about this report?
