Guest guest
That is a lot of acetaminophen (Tylenol). Each hydrocodone tablet has 500 mg. My hep only allows me to take 2 hydrocodone per day for a total of 1000 mg. acetaminophen. You have a right to proper pain management and should ask your doctor for a referral to a pain management center. Sandy C. > > I need some advice. Guest guest
Connie, I had major back surgery and took dilaudid and oxycodone. While they are bad, they absolutely took care of the pain! Guest guest
Connie, My liver team approves Norco for severe pain (10 mg hydrocodone/ 325 mg tylenol). I break them in half and take 1/2 twice a day...it works without all the tylenol stress on the liver. Best of luck.

Best of luck. > > > >To ( Connie and Norco ) YOU obviously consult with your Transplant Clinic regarding other medical problems as well? After 16 post Liver Transplant its a entirely different view point, especially that of my Liver Specialist. He has made it quite clear to me, that he wants nothing to do with any medical conditons not associated with the Liver, period. He sees it as " apples and oranges " of course I don't see eye to eye with him. I have had to submit an appeal to the state to have my denture/dental care seen as a cause and effect to my pre existing liver condition...my Liver Specialist refused to help me, having nothing to do with supporting me. After 16 years post transplant it has nothing to do with my liver, anything, getting old?? If I hadn't persisted to get help from my Primary Care Dr. I would be front toothless, but with a wonderful functioning liver at my age back then. Or a new car engine, without wheels; hip replacements too, knee replaced ? go figure. >
Guest guest
Hi I am trying to get caught up on here and just read about your cyatic nerve problems. Have you tried a TENS unit? My therapist recommended it for me and I found alot of relief for quite a few years. I also do stretching exercises and have found that when I take Valium for the muscle spasms it also helps. the WV hillbilly
Guest guest
Hi, what do your doctors say about Valium? I used to take diazepam sometimes, but was switched to oxazepam as they said it's supposed to be less harmful to the liver (even though they both apparently belong to the benzodiazepines group). I've also noticed the tranquillizers help a bit with certain types of pain. Jaana bsmyers1@... wrote: > found alot of relief for quite a few years. Guest guest
& Janna Lots of talk yesterday about pain (both sides of the fence were texting). Well, I have a doozy of a problem.... I was scrubbing my bathroom & reaching behind the toilet, when I felt & heard a " pop " . Have been in excruiating pain since. Had called my nurse coordinator to ask how the labs that I had drawn after being placed on diuretics for ascities looked. When she called me back, she asked about my itching and incresed the amount of Atarax that I take daily. And I wasn't going to tell her about my rib if she just mailed me my labs. But since she called, I did. Now I need to call my primary & get a chest x-ray scheduled because I am osteopenic & could've done something there. She didn't mention any pain medication but I have these Lidocaine patches that I would place on the areas of shingles that I had & can use these. My MELD score went up to a 14 and my mom now thinks when I see the gastro in Jan., they will send me to meet with the transplant team. I'm not going to get myself all hyped up about it. - tried to E-mail you directly yesterday but that Damien guy just doesn't like me doing this. How's the recovery going? bsmyers1@... wrote: Hi I am trying to get caught up on here and just read about your cyatic nerve problems. Have you tried a TENS unit?
