Guest guest
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism by my endocrinologist. He says it is either from chronic opioid use for Chronic pain from Fibromyalgia and pontine glioma or directly from the intrinsic pontine glioma (brain stem tumor). My doctor started on 50mcg levothyroxin (Mylan) every morning. My T4 actually went down a point. The doctor blamed it on my taking the generic product. He says it does not absorb as well. Has anyone else heard of this? If it doesn't absorb well, couldn't he just prescribe a high dose of the generic? I ask because I get generics for free and my insurance only pays about $4 towards Synthroid. Are any levothyroxin generics better than others? Is it necessary to take levothyroxin 30 minutes before other pills and eating? I have a hard time with this. Does this vary by brand? Thanks, I am relatively new to all of this and could really use the help. -Steve M in PA (new member) Age 21 One daughter (almost 3 years old)
