Guest guest
I just got the results of my neck ct scan and I'm confused by one part. The reason I had it is that one lymphnode was swollen, but got better and my neck feels swollen on and off. This is what it says..... Impression: 1.No pathologically enlarged lymph nodes are seen. There are scattered sucentimeter size lymph nodes in levels 1,2 and 3 regions which are not pathologically enlarged based on size criteria. 2. The thyroid gland is not defitely seen raising question of either atrophy or surgical removal. A focal density seen along theright aspect may represent a surgical clip. Clinical correlation is suggested. Findings: A few scattered subcentimeter size levels 1,2 and 3 lymph nodes are seen, none of which are enlarged by size criteria. The parapharyngeal, masticator, carotid, parotid, and submandibular spaces are grossly unremarkable. The oropharynx, hypopharynz are unremarkable. The laryngeal structures are unremarkable. The thyroid gland is definitely not visualized raising question for either atrophy or surgical remval. An oblique density is noted in the right thyroid bed which may represent a surgical clip. Bone windows demonstrate a mucoperiosteal thickening along the inferior aspect of the left maxillary sinus. No obviously enlarged lymph nodes are noted in the visualized upper chest. I know these two things kind of say the same thing, but I wasn't sure if the Impression part was different than the findings. So here's my question. I didn't have any surgery on my thyroid and shouldn't have any surgical staples in my neck at all. I got a letter from my doctor saying everything was normal, but I ordered a copy of the results from the hospital so I'd have it from my records. Why would she say it's fine when it says that? Do you notice anything else weird about these? Also, I do have a chronic stuffy nose....does the sinus part mean anything in layman's terms? Could it be the reason I'm always stuffy?
