Guest guest
Hi Hypothyroidism is really new to me . My son 3yo this year is on autism spectrum. He also exhibits many traits of hypothyroidism . Recently we did a thyroid test and his result after converted to pediatric range shows both low t3 and t4 while tsh is higher that 1 at 1.98. The doctor prescribed therapeutic doseĀ of bio identical and molecularly identical plant derived hormone t4 and t3 at the ratio of 1:4 or 0.5 grain twice a day. In addition to that, serum cortisol is also low, same therapeutic dose of hydrocortisone was prescribed 3mg 3 times a day. Plant derived molecularly identical as well. Really appreciate your advice if this type of hormone is safe for child this young? I have been told that due to molecular identical nature, there is no side effect. Anyone on the list here is treating young kids? Your feedback is appreciated. I live in a country where porcine derived thyroid product is not available. Things like erfa or armour is out of question. So options are limited. Regards S.Y.
