Guest guest
Roni, You say you've always taken " lots of vitamins and minerals. " I'm not clear as to which ones you're taking--or how much. Or how much you really need of any particular one. One can take too much of a particular vitamin or mineral, with serious consequences, which aren't always easy to relate to the overdose. At the same time, we may take something we don't need--especially if we're getting enough in our food, or in a multiple supplement. Doctors rarely know or care enough about this subject to be of much help in advising us--unless it's the current focus on B_12 and Vit D... The only way I know of to go about this in a scientific and careful way is to have an assay (test) of your vitamin and mineral levels from a blood sample. I've also learned recently, that some vits and minerals affect each other. Zinc decreases copper levels, so if one needs zinc, and takes a supplement for that, one may also need to supplement copper. It's a tricky business. And costs of vitamins and minerals can add up quickly, especially if you don't need them. ________________________________________________________________________ > From: hypothyroidism <hypothyroidism > > Subject: Digest Number 5002 > hypothyroidism >
