Guest guest
Hi Nick Many thanks for that. I understand now. So how to bring ferritin levels up. Any suggestions please would be most gratefully received. Thank you. Kind regards Vickyanne>>She also has cortisol insufficiency.> >So what you are saying, correct me if I a wrong here, that if a person is not hypo then a ferritin level of say 33 (below 70) is normal?> If they have hypo symptoms then a Ferritin of 33 is not good enough.I don't have the information to say how "normal" it is.Nick

Guest guest
Hi Vickyanne: Ferriten levels need to be at least 70-90 to feel decent. The best levels are 120 for women and 150 for men. Ferrous sulfate is best taken away from most all other meds. The best way to get the iron into your system is to take it with vitamin C. I take my iron and my VC at night just before I go to bed. VC helps the iron absorb into the system. You should always take Iron at least 4 hours away from Thyroid meds. The reason we suggest this is because if you take them together you will have very a strong reaction. Your heart will race, you body will feel wild and crazy and out of control. It's a horrible feeling and it's very scary. I tried this once purposely, to see exactly how it felt, and I *felt like I was in serious danger.* Cheers, JOT
Guest guest
Hi Jot Many thanks for your reply. That is what I thought the level should be. I just needed confirmation. I must say however, my Daughter hasn't been diagnosed as being hypo although she has ALL the classic symptoms and diseases/imbalances which are connected to being hypo, i.e. gallstones, endometriosis, imbalance in hormones, low cortisol the list is endless not even mentioning high tsh, pain all over the body, carpal tunnel syndrome as I said the list goes on. But you know what the endos here say, I think we all do, they even said her ferritin level was optimal! Because my Daughter hasn't been diagnosed as being hypo she was not offered any thyroids so therefore her life is very non existant at the moment not to mention extremely painful. But thanks for your advice now I know what to get I will get it for her. Its something we can change by ourselves. kind regards Vickyanne From: jitterjotter <jitterjotter@...>Subject: Re: FERRITINthyroid treatment Date: Friday, 19 November, 2010, 20:08 Hi Vickyanne:Ferriten levels need to be at least 70-90 to feel decent.
