Guest guest
I would like to know the answer to your questions too as I am currently on the T3 only because of RT3 dominance. The T4, as far as I know, is what is produced in order to make T3, which is the active hormone. The Rt3, degrades into T2 and then T1, so I do believe that we can do without the T4 if we have Rt3 dominance that does not go away. If so, I've always wonderer if the RT3 dominance problem would re-emerge if one re-took the natural thyroid or T4 after clearing the RT3? If not, that is quite good for solving the problem permanently. But if RT3 bounced back, one would suffer from the instability of different meds and get into another vicious cycle again and again during the treatement. If one stayed at the T3 only meds continuously, I also wonder if one can survive without proper T4 function. T4 and T3 are both key hormones in human being. Thanks. ------------------------------------
Guest guest
Hi Fragrance, You have hit on the flaw that I have always felt with Dr. 's work. If you can't convert T4 properly then you need T3. I've tried T3 alone for a while and as soon as I restarted Armour I still needed the extra T3 because additional Armour still caused stiff joints. so no permanent improvement in my tolerance to T4 occured. > thyroid treatment > From: fragrance_seen@...> Date: Sun, 10 Jan 2010 02:49:16 +0000> Subject: Questions about T3 only and 's> > As all know, wilson use T3 only meds to clear the RT3, and after clearing it, one can re-take the original thyroid hormones, natural thyroid or T4 or T4 +T3 again? Guest guest
RT3 degrades into T2,T1? Sorry I don't get what you said, Roni. Did you mean that RT3 will make T2,T1 eventually? Guest guest
Hi Isobel, Like being on T4 only it's not optimal, but if that's all you can tolerate- I have heard of folk doing perfectly fine on T3 alone. I prefer to take as much Armour as I can cope with, then top up with T3- which in my case is rather a lot! I seem to feel more 'settled' that way- but we're all different and that's the problem that docs don't seem to recognise. thyroid treatment From: isobelmccoll@...Date: Sun, 10 Jan 2010 13:53:58 +0000Subject: Re: Questions about T3 only and 's Hi is it ok to permantly be on t3 only isobel> We want to hear all your funny, exciting and crazy Hotmail stories.
