I had to wear a bandaid on my forehead to cover my stitches from getting my

skin cancer cut out -- wear it for several days. I got more comments when

the bandage was **on** than after it was **off** and the whole world could

see my stitches!

The most common (dumb) question was whether I'd run into a door or

something.

Come on, I'm not THAT klutzy!

Try to forget its on there and stay in the dark as much as possible!

Oh fun! I can't wait for those comments ;). My Dad has a large

divot in his nose from having a bit of skin cancer removed. I'm

hoping that won't happen. My Ma says, " If you have to have something

removed, get a plastic surgeon! " Yes, I know things could be worse,

but it's still annoying none the less.

I was being advised (by my midwife, lol) to have a plastic surgeon do it

because it's on my face, but frankly, I don't think that was in the budget.

So I had the doctor my insurance covered do it, an older gentleman who's

been around long enough to see the change in the quantity of skin cancer on

people...He did a beautiful job!

For mine, it was just above my eyebrow, near the top of my nose. I thought

he would cut horizontally, but he did it vertically. He said because of the

shape, if he'd have done it horizontally, it would have been a much bigger

cut, like about 3 1/2 - 4 " , in order to get it all. Instead, it was about 1

1/4 " inches. Not bad. He was so funny -- he told me that " I've put it right

there by the other furrows " so it wouldn't stand out -- referring to my

wrinkles! Mine barely shows.

Good luck with yours!

If it were me (and the folks I work with would tell you it's true) I

would dress it up with a nice heart shaped bandaid. --But I work

in pediatrics so it might be a little easier to get away with it.

That's so funny! That's what the nurse said. :)

Hello. It's me again - Christie.

I can't seem to get any help getting rid of this ringworm type of circle on

the tip of my nose. Now it seems to be on the side of my nose too. CO

doesn't seem to help it at all. As a matter of fact, it seems to be getting

a bit more red using that instead of the anti-fungal creme I was using. I

don't know how to clear it up and am getting concerned over it.

Any help you can shed would be appreciated. I never had anything like this

before in my life so this is a new experience.

Thank you.
