Hey Tim,

I just had a revision on april 6. It was done by Dr Winquist, whom

I HIGHLY recommend. Even the PTs at the hospital (Swedish)

indicated his patients all do well.

My first was done by Dr Scranton, whom I would not recommend. I've

had several docs tell me that the original fit was not good. My

second experience was completely different than the first.

Dr. Crutcher did my hip revision at Swedish Hospital in Seattle. He was a

referral to me as I'm in Central WA and there wasn't anyone here in our area

qualified to do the revision work I needed. He was wonderful and easy to work

with. The Staff and PT's at Swedish also impressed me.

I had a Medical BFH on 1-20-04.My Dr. was Fred at

Arlington Orthopedic Clinic.About 40 miles from Seattle.Would highly

reccomend Dr. .I am 45 years old and broke my hip skiing in

2000.I had a failed hemiarthoplasty and was in immense pain prior. My

recovery went very quickly and I now can do pretty much anything I

like.Dr. says take it easy on it,hard advice to take because I am

very active.I have already skiied again, I walked 18 holes of golf

twice in the past three days, and I have only mild pain or discomfort

afterwards. My natural hip talks back more than the replacement.Highly

reccomend the Medical BFH.Contact Medical and ask for e-

mail address of Garth Luke.He is the rep in the Northwest for

Medical and was very helpful for me. If I can help in any way please

feel free to e-mail me at daduco2@... Dave

Hey Regina,

Why do our Dear Hubby's think that when the weight comes off, we

are gonna throw them out. My Hubby is the greatest, but since I

dropped the weight he is insecure. He stuck with me big and he's

stuck with me small{small did i say that}. I love him more now, cuz

I am not depressed about the excess weight. Granted I can out run

him now, when he's chasing me around the house, but no worry, I'll

let him catch me most of the time. Also, to you guys on the board

what's up with wanting sex~sex~sex~ We have a lifetime, sometimes

you just want to sit and chat without hands, mouth and everything

else just going crazy.Without feeling hurt when I say no thank you.

Sorry if this offends anyone, just want to put my Dear Hubby at ease

and make him happy too!!!Any advice ?

Thanks,

Deb

I have figured out that my husband wants more sex when he is stressed out.

Anytime, he gets " grabby " :) I can ask what is going on at work and he goes on

and on and on about someone or something. It is a funny little thing we as a

couple have figured and talked about so we know how to deal with it. I also

have a hubby who loves to be touched when he is stressed - back rub, hug etc. I

want desperatly to be left alone when I'm stressed out. Just little things we

figure out through the years. I do like it when he hugs me now and his arm

" almost " reaches around my waist - how fun!!! :)

Take care!

Sorry, I don't have a perfect answer for your next question :) Sometime I give

in and sometimes I just don't have the energy. I was hoping this would change

as I lose weight :) It seems like such a simple thing to do to give them a

little ego boost. That being said, like I mentioned, when I'm stressed and

tired etc, I just can't even stand to be touched enough to " boost his ego " :)

I have to say, that my husband and I came to this realization through a

counselor (lots of meetings) he was doing outpatient treatment for alcohol and

that center insists that the couple come together, not just the alcoholic. We

did 2 nights a week in group counseling for 1 year and now we just see her as we

need it (May 30 will be his 8 yr sobriety birthday). One night she told my

husband " no one has died from not having sex " We both laughed and after that we

started to identify " when " he was so " active " . I don't know what would have

happened if I would have just told him that rather than a counselor bringing it

up. All that to say, I hope you and your husband can identify the issue

together so he is more open to hearing it :)

As far as needing alone time, this is something that I continue to remind my

husband of. It's not about him or not loving him as much as I do, I just need

some time for me. Sometime, I just go in the bathroom and read a book (this

might fall in the " to much info " category but it's true) Then he doesn't feel

like I'm ignoring him, and I get my alone time. :)

Deb, I hope all this has helped a little. I think it's good for us to talk

about more than just weight loss and I'm glad that we can. Our lives are about

so much more than just that one thing.

Take care,

PERK!!! Holden your single??? Well, Hot Dog!!! So AM I...woo hoo!!!

Just teasing ya...wow, not too many single banded men, so you know

you tripped off my radar! TTFN!

***Also, I just want to throw in my hat into what is going on...I

swear I go away for a bit and people get their undies in a bunch.

This is an open forum, no one has any rights over another...one thing

I've learned that if you want to post something Off Topic, just put

OT on the subject line and those not wanting to read can simply move

onto the ones they want to read. I've seen this problem on OH.com and

personally I think it's just silly to get all up in a roar over

another comments, don't like it...CLICK OFF!!! So, please those who

wish to talk about Sex after the band or whatever, FREEDOM OF

SPEECH!!!! Anywho...that's my two cents take it or leave it...I

really don't care!***

Later Gators...Hey Holden...Look me up!! WINK...lol

I didn't receive any answers, so I am attempting this again... I am 24 years

old. I definitely have candida. I have had acid reflux for a few years, but it

was never terrible until about a year ago when I had some wine, and had the

worst stomach ache for the next 3 months until that was diganosed as IBS. The

" IBS " seemed to make my acid reflux worse. I finally had acid reflux surgery 3

months ago, and for the first 6 weeks post op, I had to follow a very very

restricted diet. During these 6 weeks of not eating bread, and many other

things, I became myself again for the first time in a very long time. I felt

great. I should also say that I started taking threelac during weeks 4 through

6, which honestly helped me a ton. I think I was killing the yeast big time, but

I probably should have really hit it hard with an anti fungal to kill it off for

good. When I finally went back to work I started eating normal things, and my

heartburn came on full force after eating raisin bran breakfast cereal. Thats

when I finally knew that this was candida. I just started the diet again today

and am going to do a week or 2 on the diet before I start hitting it with

threelac again, and then I want to take something to finally put this candida to

rest once and for all and move on with my life. I want to hear from people that

sucessfully treated their candida. I want to know how long it took them, and

what they did, and what foods they ate. I dont want to know if they ate " grains,

or dairy " , I want to literally know some meals that you ate, because I am only

on day 2 and am running out of ideas! I cant have an egg ommlet, and chicken

with spinach and carrots everyday for the next 6 weeks otherwise ill go nuts!

Also, when I was on my diet after the surgery, I was having pasta almost daily,

in olive oil with spinach. So Im guessing the wheat didnt really effect me?

hi,

I think you need to understand that its not about killing off the candida but

building up your immune system. This is all explained in the articles sent to

you when you joined. Thus, this is not a quick fix and its going to take time,

but it truly brought out my resilience and strength.

Anyways the types of meals that I have which seem so limitless that I have to

keep myself from overeating :) consists of: lemon chicken salad, ground beef

marinara with spaghetti squash, steak with zucchini stir fry, spicy citrus

chicken wings, daikon radish " fries, " egg drink ice cream, pumpkin seed

pancakes, chicken soup, cauliflower rice, kimchi " noodles, " tuna mayo salad,

guacamole, salsa, etc.

The main symptoms that I overcame are: anxiety, depression, social phobia, oral

thrush, excessive sweating and body odor, pale/unhealthy complexion and many

others that I cant think of right now, but those are my main improvements. Hope

this helps and feel free to ask any other questions.

Best,
