Guest guest
Ruth, Die off does occur with VCO. That is why it is preferrable to start slow and work up slowly - unless of course you are willing to go through what you are going through. I went through a week of needing naps, and that is with only starting at 1 tsp a day, and working up to 1 tbls a day. I am still at only 3 to 4 tsp a day, but after about 5 days (from the time I started VCO) I didn't need the afternoon naps anymore. It's been over a year since I started taking VCO however, I do remember feeling tired after taking it. I remember wondering if the extra energy boost was a myth. Everybody is different, so it may take shorter or longer before it turns around for you. I do have certain reservations about the 'die off' scenario because I partake in different protocols such as the Beck protocol, collotial silver, chorella, etc and each time I get some reaction. Can it be this 'die off' on each one or is my body just adjusting to a different environment? Cheers, Wally

I've been taking VCO for a few months now, and haven't noticed any physical changes in particular. I started with one tablespoon/day, and am now up to three. Other than a strange and unpleasant 'heavy' feeling in my gut (I don't know how else to describe it) that I experience for a few minutes immediately after consuming the product, there are no other effects, pro or con. My exposure to VCO started with body and hair care, and that's where I see the most pay-off. But I will continue to eat my VCO straight, as it certainly can't hurt me, and it tastes might good. Guest guest
Don't forget to lower daily intake of other high calory foods. I take my VCO as part of meals rather than on an empty gut. Whatever it is, I've decided that I can live with it. That's a good point about lowering intake of other high calorie foods, Alobar. It's not such an issue for me because I'm already at my ideal weight, and am a fairly serious athlete who burns off calories rapidly. A little extra dietary fat wouldn't make much difference for me. I stopped taking it and found out that suddenly my recuperation time from excercise took a lot longer. > I started with one tablespoon/day, and am now up to three. I put the VCO in the refrigerator and break off chunks and eat it like candy. Cheers, Wally
Guest guest
Helloo there: This also happened to my husband and I couldn't figure it out PLUS he was Grumpy as well. So we went back to a much lower dose and that worked for awhile, so then I give it to him breakfast and lunch but not supper anymore and that worked better. He is energetic now and MUCH NICER to deal with. Bonnie Re: is this die off? Hi Ruth, > I started taking VCO about a week ago religiously....as of 2 days ago >I am up to 4 tbs a day. Guest guest
Wally, So, did you ever reach a point where it (did) give you energy? Guest guest
hello Bee and all Here are some of these that I feel. I would like your opinion. 1)Headache 2)flu like feeling 3)nausea (not much) 4)fever feeling all over 5)mucus in throat 6)insomnia 7)too frequent bowel movements, not diahrea but yellow in colour 8)loss of concentration 9)pain in the chest (in the muscles) 10) rush in my chest / a big red rush that itches . first time in my life/ never seen anythng like it before on my body 11) chills /feeling really cold, but no fever. But it feels exactly as fever. 12)sore throat I feel really bad. Definatly ill. So how can I know that this is die off ? maybe I have a flu? I want to say, that I know that these look like die off symptoms (I've done my reading!!!), it is just my question why can't we think that this is actually a flu??? I am at the beginning, with 5-6 teaspoons of coconut oil (started from 3 and then added more really slowly) Ariana.

The reason you can't think of it as actually the flu, is because all flus and colds are caused by detoxification, which the body itself creates in order to clear out toxins. Die-off symptoms are the same as detoxifying symptoms and healing symptoms, which all come under the term " Herxheimer Reactions. " +++Of course if you are eating foods, or consuming toxins, that feed candida, it will be producing more toxins that your body has to deal with too. +++No one can " catch " any bacteria, viruses, germs, etc. - the body itself creates all bacteria, viruses and germs, when needed, in order to clear out toxins or because the body is rundown and in poor condition, lacking proper nutrients, etc. - see this article: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/germ12.php > > I am at the beginning, with 5-6 teaspoons of coconut oil (started from 3 and then added more really slowly) +++It is possible you are changing over to this diet too quickly; starting on 3 tbls. of coconut oil is a lot, which will cause more die-off symptoms. I suggest you read " Curing Candida, How to Get Started " and cut back on the amount of coconut oil, and only gradually increase it, to minimize die-off reactions - here's the article: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/intro1.php I hope you are feeling better soon. However, it isn't possible to avoid all die-off symptoms since they are part of the healing process the body has to go through in order to heal itself - see this article for more details: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/heal2.php The best in health, Bee
Guest guest
hello there, I got all those symptoms & more in the 1st few weeks of the diet & I was only at 1 tsp of VCO. I got huge ulcers in my throat, my ears hurt & my eyes were burning. But these sensations past. Just got to have faith that this is die- off and will soon past. Maybe cut back on the VCO to reduce your die-off. Take care. Shirin > > > > hello Bee and all > > > > Here are some of these that I feel.
