You should join the Natural Thyroid Hormone group. They can help you balance

Isocort and Armour.

adrenals and thyroid

Well, I have mostly been a lurker here with a few comments here and

there and as so much of the information on this group is very technical

I have felt I just need to keep reading to get a better understanding.

Which I think I may be getting there.

Now my question is I know I have adrenal fatigue as well as some

thyroid issues because of my low body temp.and i know they go together

and from my reading and research they say you should work on your

adrenals first. I have been taking iodoral for a couple months now and

it has helped my energy levels. I have been taking natural adrenal

cortex as well as vitamin c and some sea salt. I have also seem my

temps go up to about 97.8 from 97.3. So, is it a good idea to take

isocort as well as armour at the same time or should you start the

isocort and then later start the armour.

I have not done any tests. I just finished reading a lengthy article by

Dr. Hotz and he has treated 6000 patients for thyroid and feels that

tests are not always a good measure of what a person needs as they only

tell you what is happening at the particular time and thryoids etc.

fluctuate through the day. He does say he gets some idea what is and

what is not working.

So, I am considerting trying both Isocort and Armour to get myself to

the next level of wellness and would like to know the groups thoughts

on taking both, etc. I do not go to doctors as I don't have insurance

that covers that plus more importantly don't really trust them. I have

asked doctors in the past about my thyroid and they just blow it off.

My father is on thryoid medicine as he has a " dying " thyroid.

So, any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

thanks,

Allyn

how much iodoral are you taking? I am not a big fan of isocort but it might

help a little. I like cortisol better.

I take 4 pills a day of Iodoral. So where do you get cortisol?

And do you take it along with armour?

She means hydrocortisone (brand name Cortef.) Hydrocortisone and

cortisol are somewhat the same. Hydrocoritsone is a bio-identical

hormone.

Gracia " isn't a big fan of Isocort " but it has 2.5 mg of

hydrocortisone in each pellet.

The " standard " dosage for someone with low adrenals is up to 20 mg of

hydrocortisone per day (taken as 5 mg 4 times daily).

Can this diet help with your adrenals and thyroid?

I would love to hear from others that have these issues and what this diet has

done for them.

I feel lately that a lot of my symptoms seem also like it is adrenals issues.

My doctor does not want to test my thyroid right now so how do I know if I need

to come off some of my thyroid medication while I am healing my body and losing

weight?

Thank you

Theresa

+++Hi Theresa. I usually answer questions from early morning until about Noon

every day (EST), but then I have to get away from the computer. So may I ask

you to wait for answers to your messages before posting them again?

+++Your doctor will adjust your thyroid meds according to your tests. If your

thyroid malfunctioned say 8 years ago, since it takes 1 month for every year to

heal, you should test your thyroid after being totally on this program 4 months,

and then get it tested every 6 weeks thereafter, since your thyroid should be

normalized in 8 months and you don't want to be taking any meds by then.
