Guest guest
I believe that some people reduce the flushing by taking time released capsules...they give you a small dosage throughout the day instead of one big dose. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guest guest
Hi! trying not to panic and from al the reading I've done thus far I do believe I'm having my 1st niacin flush and it's a true bug out. I've been on the supplements for 2 weeks now, upped niacin to 100mg--had started out at 25 mg in beginning... was wondering when " flush " would happen but wasn't obsessing--well, after having my beautiful Bee egg drink (what a way to get coco oil and butter in), while taking my supplements--not even 15 minutes later - started to feel bodily burning sensation not just head right now-it's been about 15 minutes in so far-my arms are red and blotchy face is red and butt and back of legs are very warm-gosh, I know that like most of us here I am toxic-my arms are very pronounced with a rash like look-I gotta attribute this to the flush-please let me know--also I did the my 1st ever water enema yesterday-did this help bring the flush out? Thanks, Flushing Phyllis

One of the important things that helps niacin release toxins through the skin is the " good " fats. > > To lessen the severity of the flush, take less niacin. When you do not get a flush for 5 days in a row at a given dose, increase it, but don't take more than 400 mg of niacin per day. > > It can take up to 3 hours for a flush to subside, but it usually takes less than 1 hour. > > All the best, Bee > Great news.. Guest guest
> > Hi Bee, > > Monday was the first day I took niacin. After the second dose at dinner, I had a mild flush on the backs of my arms and my knees. No flush on Tuesday. Then today after the second pill--wow!--extreme flush all over, burning sensation. I was warm. The burning did not last too long. Most redness gone, but I still have some redness on my arms, ears, thighs and knees 3 hours later. Should I expect all flushes to be this intense? +++Hi Leesa. Not all flushes will be intense, but some will. Bee
Guest guest
> > .......Hi All, Phyllis A. here- gotta say love this group But it is very frustrating to read that Bee recommends 50 mg/day niacin. I have been fully on the program for 3 months and am up to 100mg/day-most days with a flush. I was told that we should start out small til we reach 100mg. Bee, I hope you are back so we can have a little more order--there have been members commenting on how toxic a large vit. a dose is and due to my acne (which is improving) you have me on a very high vit. a dose which is over in 8 days (I plan to set up a call for more personal guidance as to a maintenance dose)... and the whole facebook thing-amazing what people will do when mother is not around... there are too many members giving advice when it is best for them to send personal messages if they feel they need to express themselves. Guest guest
Hi Phyllis A., I can understand your frustration with how things are running without Bee around. We moderators are really trying our best to keep up. We all have a lot of respect for Bee and try to follow her advice as closely as possible without the added confusion of outside recommendations. This is why Bee keeps this forum more of a Q & A as opposed to an open forum where people can discuss whatever they choose. I just wanted to point out that Bee recommends the 50mg Niacin tablet twice a day, so if you are taking 100mg once a day, it is fine. Sorry for the confusion. I was merely recommending to that she could cut her 100mg tablet in half so that her flushes are not so severe. This is what Bee says about Niacin: Do not buy non-flushing niacin. Niacin is available in 50 mg, 100 mg and 500 mg tablets, so be careful which one you buy; it should be 50 mg, or cut 100 mg in half. Some people need to start with 25 mg or less and slowly increase it so their flush isn't too severe. Guest guest
Hi , So If I take the nutritional yeast flakes am I not supposed to take extra Niacin? Or am I supposed to take niacin on purpose to cause detox flushes after being on the diet for a while? Then how often do you do it? Ive read some niacin articles but maybe not the right ones. If I am I will wait after yesterday. I have surgery on the 10th and don't want to cause any extra bleeding. Its amazing but Ive made one change at a time. Every time I make one change I feel like crap for a couple of days then it goes away. ............PS Tristan is doing really good on eggs and 3 table spoons coconut oil so far. > > Hi , > > You can cut them in half. 50mg is the dose that Bee recommends anyway. > > >

This program detoxify as well, but it does it the longer slower way, which is easier to handle than if you push detoxification with something like niacin. It is still going to take 1 month of healing for every year you've been unwell. Also if more than 400 mg of niacin are taken per day a person would " have to " increase other supplements too. So it is okay to just take 50 mg of niacin twice a day. You can take 50 mg of niacin twice a day along with the nutritional yeast flakes - I don't know how much niacin is in them. Guest guest
> > , I don't get flushing with NYF either. After my flush yesterday I felt so good. I had energy till 9pm. Then this morning I had huge detox bowel movements. Like Tar smell. Uggg! Sorry , but is this what others experience with flushing? +++Hi . It is okay to take 50 mg of niacin twice a day along with Nutritional Yeast Flakes - I don't know how much niacin is in the Flakes anyway. The detox bowel movement wasn't caused by taking niacin only, and no it is not a normal niacin flush reaction. But it is normal to get weird bowel movements since they indicate your body is detoxifying. Bee
