Guest guest
Hi Stephainie,

My doctor basically said that the pains to watch out for were those that began at some point in the activity, and got steadily worse with continued exercise. That's sort of the rule of thumb that I go by, that, and if it's a sharp pain. I pay attention to those no matter whether they linger or not. That, I think, means something's seriously tweaked and I need to back off. Mild aches, and pains that come and go, particularly when associated with an increase in intensity, are the ones I don't worry so much about.

Tony

When i read your email i realised mine were feeling much better, but i hadn't noticed 'til i thought about it. Used to be i could sit on a chair and straighten my knee and hear these really horrible grating / grinding noises (not much discomfort though- thank goodness). Now they hardly make a sound. I've been taking glucosamine sulphate for about three years now with curcumin. Haven't changed much else except for just starting er4yt properly in the last week or so. I think for me personally it has taken a while, but it [glucosamine] has worked.

Guest guest
I second that. Sometimes excercise creates some mild pain but if you back off a bit but carry on, the pain gets better. Important to ease off though I think when you have pain. If the pain is bad or gets worse then stop. Any sharp pains stop immediately. Mild pain carry on carefully to see if it gets worse or goes away. If the mild pain keeps coming back then take a rest. Important - I'm talking about mild pain! Bad pain then stop! I'm gradually walking farther and farther, not 2 miles yet!
Joe
Guest guest
Tom, Thanks! You're always digging around, always finding things to give us hope! I have less pain now, been taking gluco/chondro for 4 months. Good post.
Joe
Guest guest
,

I probably should've clarified what I stated in my post about stopping exercise during pain. I have a general dull and achy pain quite a lot (caused by my CP in one knee and beginnings of osteoarthritis in the other), including when I exercise. But any dramatic increase in the pain, or sharp pain, that occurs during exercise is a good indication to stop, according to my OS. And then the overriding factor should be the second and third self-checks I mentioned: does it hurt worse the next day, and is it getting worse or better over time.

BTW, my CP knee grinds all the time when I exercise, and that causes some dull achiness. And my knees are sore the evening after exercise. But sharp pain or increasing pain is a whole different ballgame. I hope that your OS had you quantify the type of pain you experience...otherwise I'd be appalled if he told you to exercise thorough it.

As you've seen on the other posts, G/C could help, especially with the osteoarthritis. I've had great success taking it for three years now. Also, I've cut back walking on blacktop or asphalt, and that has really helped - I'll prefer to walk on a treadmill or grass (uneven, so watch your ankles) or a cinder block track and that has cut down on the amount of shock the knee receives and so on the soreness I experience.

Hurtknees
Guest guest
BTW, further to what Joe said (post 795), the mild pain stops or gets less as you continue your exercise b/c your body produces endorphins, those natural pain killers that block the message of pain from getting to your brain.

Also, as you warm up, you're synovial fluids get going and provide better lubrication to the knee, and that will help alleviate some of the pain as well. Guest guest
In fact I would go as far as to say please ignore " snake-oil " salesmen with incomprehensible sign-ons who join this site and within 90 minutes start trying to sell their own products (eg glocostrine and OPC-3) We have no need for them on this site... I won't waste any more time on this subject and certainly won't be sending this guy any money...

Joe
Guest guest
You don't have to listen to me. I don't sell this product. I though I might be helping you, Because
it works for me. Check out some of the other club
on this site people are talking about it. If you don't want any help why are you complaining. Snake oil went out in the forty's when these phar-
misutical companys started poising our body's with
chemicals. But be my guess keep on with the poisen
IT is not going to hurt me.
I hear about women every day having their breast
removed because of cancer. Its is a known fact that
isotonics have helped women with certain types
of cancer and never had their breast removed.
So talk all you want thought the back part of
your body and give some doctor your hard woking money to mutalate your body. Guest guest
Hey guys, sorry to cause controversy, but some things have to be said....

The thing I like about this site is that it's a friendly and caring community. Everyone here tries to help each other and people post with genuine information. So far we haven't had many (or any?) sales pitches from people trying to make money out of our pain. So let's keep it that way.

Also, as far as I can remember, we've never had a newcomer, who has arrived and after a couple of token posts and within 90 minutes, begins to sell us a new wonder-product. Complete with prices, quantities, and an anonymous web-mail address.

There are many points I can make about Charlie's claims but I'll save those for the moment. I would ask you to be cautious however about a product which

1. WILL definitely work:

" It will help you to walk better "
" your body should be able to cure most deseases that you come into contact with "
" Try it and feel better "
" By using glocostrin along with OPC-3 You will feel better and be able to walk better "

2. Will also apparently cure cancer!

" Its is a known fact that isotonics have helped women with certain types of cancer and never had their breast removed "

3. If we don't use it we will have to suffer surgery and mutilation:

" Or else there is always knee surgery "
" give some doctor your hard woking money to mutalate your body "

I shalln't go into details about Charlie's level of vitriole, other than to say this is not normal behaviour for a " carer " .

Like Tom, I did a quick search on the web for both glocostrine and OPC-3. I drew a blank on glocostrine but OPC-3 has been around for a few years. It's some kind of vitamin complex. It's marketed by " Market America " (mentioned by Charlie in his first post). Market America is some kind of web-based franchised marketing scheme and they bill themselves as " America's Most Powerful Business Opportunity " .

Erm, need I say any more?

Here's their link

http://www.marketamerica.com/

I'd REALLY like to think that Charlie is a decent guy. Maybe Charlie really did get better and attributes this to glocostrine? So go on Charlie, prove me wrong! Give us some web links to sites which talk about glocostrine, preferably containing independent research. Please give us some web links to reputable, household-name suppliers?

Joe
Guest guest
Hi JDM, The 'crunching' in your knees will likely go away on this diet since joint problems are related to candida. Oftentimes, the 'crunching' is a precursor to arthritis even though you don't have problems right now, so it's great that you are following this diet to help your body heal. Here's an article about arthritis and the candida connection: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/arth1.php > > I have been having crunchy knees for about three years. They don't hurt at all. They just make noises when I make certain moves. > > Will this diet help or is this something uncandida related? >
