I think if it were my child, I would opt for the split class. Maybe the

transition would be easier around well mannered kids, but I know it will be

harder around wild kids. My son is the same way about modeling behavior. I

homeschool, but I was thinking about putting him back, until I realized there

was a child who is self-abusive (to the point of trying to gouge his own eyes

out). I don't need around that behavior, or he'd be doing it too. The

reason for me pulling him out of school was that he was the highest functioning

child in the class. With no one higher, there is no one to model.

Just my .02 worth. But I agree......why can't we find something perfect. After

all our struggles you'd think we deserve it.

Leah,

You sound so overwhelmed. I can definately relate.

But when reading your post, you have hit what you need. YOu said:

cant they just make

> a

> program just for her.....

Well, yes they can and they must. IT is called the IEP! We sometimes

forget about that. She doesnt' have to be like the other kids, just in

the least restrictive environment. If you like the school with higher

academic standards, and obviously higher behaviorial standards, that is

where she should be. It should be relatively easy to " rule out " the other

one, just based on the level of activity seems inappropriate for most

kids with AUtism that I know! I know Matt would be swinging from the

rafters, too, if in a program like that! Go back to your IEP, or if it is

not applicable or helpful now, insist on a new one! Write goals and

objectives, figure out what services she needs to achieve them, and then

put her in the least restrictive environment! She will learn from

appropriate behavior in peers, academically challanging curriculum, etc..

Sounds like the other school would pose a safety issue as well. Just

remember, they do have to provide her with an individual program, so she

can learn in the least restrictive environment. Maybe look at a " regular

ed " classroom, and start talking about how much more appropriate it would

be for her to be there, of course needing a full time inclusion aide to

help. THen when you are also thinking about a more segregated placement,

the school district may be more inclined to supply the necessary

supports. Don't let them put her in a lower functioning classroom and

promise to move her " up " if she " needs " to. That is not the way this

works. It is much easier to move to a more restrictive environment than a

less restrictive one. If in a regular classroom, she cannot learn (Be

sure to get in specific detail how they will determine that she is not

learning, and remember, our kiddos dont' test well!), even with all the

services you can think of to be provided there, then move from there.

Hang in there. Let us know how it went.

We'll be thinking of you.

Ashton sounds like Jen - she can hide those behaviors, too, but transitions

are a bear. Put her where they are well behaved. Jen was with autistic

boys 1/2 days last year, and she picked up their behaviors and their

stress. She is now 1/2 days in an overall special needs class and behaving

much better.

My 2 cents

Got my blood tests results back & my inflammation marker or ESR is high. It has

never been high ever. I find it very strange since i've been strick on this diet

the past 9 weeks.

My digestion seems to be in turmoil with my on & off diarrhea & bloating, which

I attributed to die-off & now the doc is saying Giardia. But I confirmed with

the doc that the stool test did not show Giardia but he is saying that Giardia

could be possible that's why he's recommending flagyl.

Now they want to do a colonoscopy again & I'm just not keen. I've done a scope 2

times already & both times there were ulcers & suspected crohns but not

confirmed.

Please tell me what I should do to keep get the inflammation down. My stomach

feels like its burning & my hiatus hernia area is giving me much pain again the

past few days. I suspect most of the inflammation is in my gut. Tho my neck &

shoulders are hurting & my entire left arm is stiff.

I'm so confused. I thot I should be getting better on this diet & not worse.

Please help.

Hi Bee,

Thanks for your reply. Today I had absolutely mucousy poop which floated & was

really stinky. I felt better for a while but my whole abdomen has been hurting

all day.

> +++You can expect to have more inflammation while you are detoxifying/healing,

and also if you've had any similar symptoms in the past your body will " retrace "

them as well in order to heal properly.

Yes, what u say makes so much sense.

> Since you are having some difficulties with your digestion I recommend you do

the 9-Day Program: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/dig6.php

> Some people need to continue on a liquid and/or pureed foods diet for longer

than 9 days, but after 9 days only do the clear water enemas every 5 days.

I started on the soup diet since yesterday & have been blending all my food.

I've cut back on my coconut oil & am taking all the other supplements except for

mag + cal which I've reduced to 1/2 dose.

Bee, with the diarrhea & tummy cramps, do I still need to do the enemas? Wouldnt

the diarrhea get all the stuff out?

I saw a naturopath today who gave me Fortakehl which is supposed to help with

the intestinal lining. Do u think I should take it?

Bee, thanks so much for replying. I always feel so much better after

+++Hi Shirin. That's a good sign your body is detoxifying. Good for you!

+++You should be doing the clear water enemas anyway.

+++No, you do not need it, since the good fats on this program reconstruct all

cells in the body so they become strong, including those that line the

intestines - in fact the intestinal lining regenerates itself every 4 days.

The best, Bee
