Guest guest
- When Protein isn't as mysterious or magical as you are making it out to be. It is simply another form of protein. If you are able to eat whole natural foods, 6 meals a day, then you don't need protein powder. If you are looking for alternatives to use for mini-meals, then protein powder is an option, as an ingredient in shakes/smoothies, or home-made protein bars (there are recipes at the same site someone gave you for shakes). For example, I enjoy a smoothie as one of my mini-meals, particularly in warmer weather. I need protein in the smoothie. I can get the protein from a combination of eggwhites and cottage cheese. Or I can get the protein from protein powder. Or I can get the protein from a combination of eggwhites and protein powder. Alternatively, I could make my smoothie without any protein, and have it with a scoop of cottage cheese. Or a scoop of tuna fish. Or a piece of chicken. You do not need protein powder to follow the BFL program. It is simply an optional ingredient; an alternative way of getting sufficient protein into your body. Does that help? n T At 04:22 PM 11/28/2005, you wrote: >How do you know when you need to use the whey protein? Guest guest
> > I'm confused about Vitamin A. I am taking Garden of Life Cod Liver Oil, do I need to take a separate Vitamin A? +++Hi Jeff. You have two options when you take Garden of Life: Either Take 2 tablespoons daily OR take 1 tablespoon daily plus a fish " liver " oil capsule that contains 10,000 IU vitamin A & 400 IU vitamin D, i.e. halibut, cod, or shark. > > Any brands of Natural Vitamin A that don't contain soybean oil? +++I haven't been able to find any. > > Rainbow light product that I have: 500mg calcium and 250mg magnesium. Can I break the tablet in half for two doses? I don't want to waste them, if I have them already. +++Yes, you can break up or cut tablets. Hopefully they are the citrate, since minerals require acid (citrate) in order to be absorbed. > > What about taking a multivitamin? - Rainbow Light Men's One a Day +++No, multivitamins aren't good since no company can possibly cram that much into one pill and still maintain quality and the correct doses of each type of nutrient. If you take them you also to have to lower doses of any nutrients you take separately, i.e. vitamin D, calcium, magnesium, B complex, etc. > > Does anyone know if Dr. Weil's B-Complex is free of soy, yeast, etc... It doesn't say it is. +++You might need to contact the company to find out. > > Wow this diet costs a lot of money! I hope it works! +++It actually isn't that costly when you realize you won't be spending money on so many packaged or processed products, foods and drinks, over-the-counter medicines, doctors or health care practitioners, and you'll be better able to work and keep your job, etc., etc. Investment in your health IS your life! All the best, Bee

I have had to change my way of thinking about food - and this is still challenging at times - I have to now look at food as a medicine (but this good food and supplements are a lot cheaper than the alternatives Bee mentioned). Thinking of food in this way helps me keep on track - and reminds me of the importance of getting the diet/program right at all costs (my effort/time & money) - because as Bee says - it is an investment in your health and your health is your life! I want to get healthy - I want to be able to work and keep my job - I don't want to have to go to the doctor/hospital or take drugs! Well said Bee!! >
Guest guest
I am beggining to order more supplements and have some questions. I have been taking the nutritional yeast....do I also need a seperate niacin? For the vitamin C do I need both the crystals and the 1000 mg tablets or capsules. If not what is the difference? How do I store the eggshell calcium? The vitamin E, comes in 400 I.U....do I take it just once per day as opposed to the reccomended 200 twice a day. When I order these things, as well as the old world cod liver oil...how much should I buy at once? How quickly will I be going through these things? I want to make it worth it as far as shipping costs go.... Thank you, Arianna
Guest guest
:Never heard of them, so I can not comment on the products. After seeing the website, I don't care about their products because i can't find any info on them because of all the garbage on the website....I went to the website and just after 30 seconds I almost vomited. I personally can not palate the glitzy multi-level-marketing-oriented " win a car at Disneyland " type of stuff. We chiros have got to step up our game and rise up above this stuff, IMHO. I personally hate glitzy MLM. To me, some people (including many doctors) in MLM have all but lost their minds and have lost all reason and objectivity. Some of them may have good products, I'll never know because i just am repulsed by the zombie-like mania with which they pursue sales and downliners/associates. My opinion only.Cheers.
